Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaBasic accommodation with basic facilities. Lighting needs improvement in living areas. No extra pillows available and no extra blanket which was required as the heating did not work.
Great location in the centre of Leuven. Accommodation clean and living areas good size. But very poor lighting, heating not working, no response from management. No basic instructions regarding cook top operation. Very noisy can easily hear tenants in other apartments above. Limited English speaking channels on TV (2) and no option for streaming movies as far as we know. Great to use as a base when visiting.

United KingdomThere was only one window for our 2 bed flat, so it was very VERY hot and stuffy, impossible to get any sleep due to the high temperature in the flat. No ventilation, unless you held the front door open. A fan, or some basic air con would make the flat much better, especially in the summer months. On arrival, the lift was broken ( for 2 days), and it was very difficult to get all our luggage and shopping up the very narrow stairs to the fourth floor where our flat was. The narrow stairs were steep, did not feel safe, and were very difficult to navigate, so the property would be quite unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues, or for small children. The kitchen lights were not working , and there and was no plug for the bedside table lamp . The ceiling lights were not bright enough for reading, so the living room area felt very dark in the evenings. The TV was broken, which was very disappointing. We did not have time to visit the BeHousing office to complain, so it is possible that some of these issues could have been addressed. We won't be booking this accommodation again!

NetherlandsThe entrance to the apartment is in an alleyway with barely any lighting. It wasn't pleasant to walk there alone at night. The apartment wasn't quite clean (I'm certain the shower and area under the bed had not been cleaned properly), wasn't quite intact (damaged area on the wall with some mould, damaged mirror), and the layout was rather astounding. The apartment featured a backdoor which was permanently ajar, a bedroom with no visible electrical sockets, another bedroom without door, which was attached to the living room, and a host of inconveniently placed electrical sockets (next to the ajar backdoor, halfway the wall, in the small space next to a closet, behind the bed, etc.).
The apartment was close to the center of Leuven. It was also fairly clean and cheaper than a hotel room.
