Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe stairs to enter the apartment would be a bit of a challenge for some people. The living room area could do with a blind to keep the sun out . It was exceptionally hot when I was there and felt a blind on the window would help to cool the room during the day .
The location was just right . The bicycle to rent .

New ZealandFrom the reviews I was expecting the metal stairs up to be worse - we had small luggage so absolutely no issue at all for us at all. If you are a large person then the shower might be a squeeze, but it was no problem for us. If you are looking for affordability - this is the place.
So spacious - separate bedroom, full kitchen and even a little balcony too! In residential area. So quiet. Easy walk to the centre for restaurants and the sites. Train station also an easy walk. Our host Dominque was lovely. Handy having a shop around the corner.

United KingdomThis apartment needs a sofa/settee. It really also should be in the description that the access is via a narrow steep iron fire escape up the side of the building. Someone with walking issues would really struggle especially in bad weather. The shower is also very small.
Well situated in the town. Great for a single person or a couple.

United KingdomCheck in timings got mixed up but we got in fairly quickly after the phone call.
Well located small apartment which was perfect for what we needed, we got a different apartment to the one that we had booked but not certain if the original one was better or not. Lots of handy information re places to visit and parking.

United KingdomSeveral niggling things. Told Bernard about the loose shelves and towel rail so they should be sorted. The main room needs to lose some of the cups and bowls. Far too many for 2 guests. The dining table is the only spare space. There was a microwave in the cupboard but no bowls and anywhere to put it. Extra/spare bin bags would help. The rug under the table could do with a clean. There are washing machines available but nowhere to hang things up to dry. Just little things but simple improvements will be rewarded.
Compact 2 room apartment with separate bathroom. Quiet with little noise from the street or the neighbours. Decent cooker with 4 hotplates and an oven. Enough pots & pans. The fan in the wardrobe was a real bonus on some very warm evenings. Close to a supermarket, Grote Markt and the Station for public transport.

United KingdomThere was a mix-up about getting into the property. I was told that someone would meet me there and that I would receive further information beforehand. I didn't receive further information and there was no-one there when I arrived. I eventually located a phone number for the owner and discovered that there was a code to let myself in.
Spacious, comfortable and well-equipped apartment in a central location.

AustraliaStairs were awful. 6 flights of 10 steps with heavy luggage and bad knees. Lounge unusable- really u comfortable chairs, needs a sofa and smaller dining table. Shower frustrating - hot water possible if shower only turn on at half power, but fittings so cheap they just fall apart.
Great location. Bedroom great. parking quite easy once you obtain a key card from the info centre at Cloth Hall. wifi super fast but only if you connect to “ext” if you are in apartment #1.

United KingdomIt's not a criticism, but if you struggle with stairs you might wish to contact the owner and see if they have other properties either in the apartment complex or nearby that might be more suited to your needs.
This is a lovely, clean and quiet good sized apartment with separate kitchen/sitting room, bathroom and bedroom., ideal for one or two people. It is fully furnished for a self catering visit. It is located within easy walking distance from the station and the centre of the village where you'll find a good range of eateries. The owner was in touch before I arrived and the key handover was easy.
