Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe street wasn’t good. There was trash everywhere. The street stunk. There were many homeless people drinking and smoking on the street, including smoking weed. The apartment is between a restaurant/bar and a church meaning on several days during our stay we couldn’t sleep well as it was very loud and annoying! The curtains do not provide maximum privacy. The bedsheets contained some stains of previous people, who used them, and some of them were even ripped. However, this was reported and the domestic staff was very helpful on resolving this issue. Another issue is the WiFi, it really needs an improvement. It doesn’t work in the two bedrooms. It only works in the sitting room and kitchen area. But the speed is very weak!
The distance from the apartment to different places in the city is very convenient. For example, getting to Grand Place, Manneken Pis, Museum, Gare de Midi, Gare du Nord, the Royal Palace and local restaurants and etc was very easy for us. The location of the apartment is really good.

Czech RepublicThe automatic lock didn't work as it should so we found out the door was unlocked in the morning. You just need to lock it from the outside and quickly shut the door. There were some cumshots on the curtains. The worst part was definitely the dodgy neighborhood. We didn't feel safe walking on the street and we simply didn't go out after dark or we used Uber. Just be cautious.
The apartment was clean enough. Not perfect but livable. There were some minor issues that could be avoided with slightly better maintenance.

PortugalIt is next to a restaurant, so the noise from 8pm till about 1-2am is very loud in one of the rooms, almost feels like it's a party every night (including week days), so they should mention that on the announcement giving the opportunity to choose a first or second floor room with less noise even if it means paying more; The view is not what expected from the pictures, but it's not a big problem; cleaning and maintaining wise, the apartment is not very well cared for, we even found chocolate wrappers inside the soap dispenser in the bathroom; the entrance has a broken floor tile that is even dangerous coming in, and the door sometimes doesn't open; when I tried to contact the host by messages on booking platform, I received automatic messages and no help at all.
The apartment is big and well decorated like in the pictures and the beds are comfortable.

United StatesThe location does not feel very safe. It is close to the Brussels Midi train station which is convenient for getting around, but the neighborhood and the train station itself may not be very safe. Do an internet search for Brussels Midi yourself to see what you find. Here is one example: https://euroweeklynews.com/2024/09/12/europes-worst-train-station-everybody-says-this-is-not-my-responsibility/ Nothing happened to us while we were there, but I would not recommend anyone to stay in this neighborhood of Brussels.
The apartment itself inside was fine and somewhat newly renovated, but the fixtures are cheap. For example the door handle fell off to the bathroom and the vent over the stove didn’t seem to have a switch to turn it on.

NetherlandsThe location was nice, but the whole are was full of trash, also it was close to some bars where a group of people was always drunk, screaming and fighting, I didn't feel threatened by them, but I could hear them scream because I had the windows open since it was too hot those days.
The space was very clean and organized, The beds were really comfortable and it was a good size for 4 people to stay. Most of the time you get a sofa-bed in the middle of the room, this was not the case, so really nice for that. Location was conveniently located close to Brussels Zuid which is a good and a bad thing. Good because it was located near public transport, bad because the whole area was filthy and full of trash.

BangladeshThey made me wait at gate for 30 minuites for the passcode even the room was empty. we waited from 2.30pm to 3,00pm and contacted the property as the passcode wasnt working. they replied, its not 3pm yet. when it was 3pm, we found its empty and was ready. i was waiting with my 2 kids on the street with all my bags on footpath. very uncomforting. It doesnt have elevator, so you must climb stairs and if you have big and weigthful luggage, its very hard to take them up with that narrow wooden stair.

United KingdomI had got a deal so I was were prepared to forgive the following, many of which have been noted in other reviews. The apartment is sparsely equipped and often things promised are not supplied eg no iron, hairdryer, soap in the bathroom dispensers, no instructions. The mugs are too big to use the coffee machine without difficulty, the frying pans did not work on the induction hob, many broken knobs and handles. The coded entry is a great idea but it is beginning to play up. The shower room is smelly and the very load noise from next door goes on till 1 or 2am. It isn't the greatest of roads but as two women we didn't feel in any way vulnerable and thought the Belgian people were very friendly.
It is very close to the Eurostar station (10 mins walk), loads of space and for two friends it was nice to have our own bedrooms with comfy double beds. Also good to be able to selfcater though see below about equipment.

GermanyWe had trouble letting ourselves in because of the automatic key system. It was pretty difficult to let the host know, however they provided us with a new code within 1 hour. The area felt a bit unsafe, there was a lot of rubbish on the streets. Cleanliness was not as expected, the apartment felt damp and smelled funny. Overall very sparsely equipped, especially the kitchen.
Two separate bedrooms. Kitchen available. Within walkable distance to Bruxelles midi station. Ground floor apartment had a small terrace.

United KingdomApartement was not clean, floor was dirty and dusty. Very noisy as there was karaoke restaurant and they were open until late time 02:00 am we could not sleep at all. The heating was very low even you increase the temperature it does not heat the rooms or the living room the apartment remained cold. Sofa was broken, had a broken leg so you cannot sit on it and owner advised that they will need to order a replacement which takes long time. So the we could not make use of during our stay.
The location was great and close to the train station and local shops.

NetherlandsThe location of the appartement is in a bit of shady part of town, not sure as a solo women I would like to walk around after dark alone. The appartement could use a better cleaning, especially the toilet and bathroom. Toilet smelled upon arrival and old equipment could be changed and making sure shower gel and hand soap filled.
Spacious appartement with good amenities and equipments. Close to train station ideal for travellers, just outside of the city center. Contactless check in what was a plus.
