Fantastic in all respects. Spacious, modern, hugely comfortable. Honesty fridge so chilled drinks on arrival. Our daughter had plenty of space & full privacy upstairs (2 single beds, full length-mirrored door wardrobe). We had a very comfortable double bed. Room got sunny and hot, but curtains kept it cool. Very spacious sitting room with table and TV (which we never used). Excellent kitchen facilities and a gorgeous, big balcony with cushions for the many comfortable seats. It really was a fantastic place to stay. Superb shower in the spacious bathroom too. Easy access and a short walk from the centre - in a completely quiet area. It couldn’t have been better…! Even the air-freshener in the single toilet was nice. The host, though we never met, was extremely helpful and quick to communicate on our arrival day too. We loved the gold-themed decor, wall-hangings, bamboo poles & lighting too and the guide books for Brussels and other Belgian towns in the living room were extremely helpful too. This is a fantastic place to stay.

The water gradually emptied out of the bath so it was possible, but tricky, to have a full bath. If the plug was fixed, that would be fantastic..! Be aware that are steep stairs to get to the gold apartment and to get to the upstairs bedroom within it. Carrying the suitcases was a challenge, but “we” managed..! (We could also have unpacked and left them in the ground floor entrance hall behind the door to the apartment, but it was easier for “someone” to lug them all up the stairs..!)

Location is fantastic, apartment spacious and comfortable.

This place was stunning. The way the whole back of the house opens up onto the deck with the view was by far the best part about this place. There is so much space! The facilities were sparkling, the place is wonderfully designed and functional. Would 100% return. The hosts were great and helpful. So many caring touches in this place. DO IT!

The place was spacious and comfortable. There are two completely independant bed rooms and a very big common space to have fun together. Last but not least: there is a very nice terrasse to enjoy the finest beers of Bruges!

I stayed in the Silver Suite and it was excellent. It was very modern and comfortable and had loads of space. It's a good distance from the main town, but far away enough away that it's wonderfully quiet. It was really well stocked too, with crockery, utensils and equipment enough to make a meal at home.

I feel that a heads up about the spiral stairs needs to be given in advance. The stairs are beautiful but there are A LOT of them and carrying big suitcases up there was pretty tricky for a younger able bodied person like me. I know my parents would've struggled hugely with them. Also, maybe a few more pillows in the bedroom!

It was a good room for the price

The host could have been much better at communication and responsiveness. Not at all happy with his responses which were quite curt. We had booked the golden suite for 4 people and we ran out of toilet paper half way through the stay. When we asked for it he mentioned he couldn’t send it the same day and that he would send it on the next day. It’s like he didn’t even know we were checking out the next day. Still we thought he will come early in the morning to replenish it but he didn’t even turn up. The instruction manuals for the stove and dishwasher were not clear and unnecessarily cumbersome. They weren’t for the appliances in the apartment. Very impersonal host. Do not recommend

We stayed in the silver suit and liked everything, what a beautiful place! Close to the center, super quiet, modern furnished in a history building. It looks even better than on pics. We would gladly recommend it.

The Guesthouse is very cosy and warmly decorated, the patio area was lovely to sit out on of a morning and have a coffee, the fridge was stocked with a nice selection of local beers, wine, and soft drinks on arrival without limiting space for your own shopping. I can't praise it highly enough and will definitely think to stay here again next time I'm in Bruges.

My stay at Guesthouse De Roode, in Bruges, was absolutely wonderful! From the super convenient self-check-in to the communication with the host via Booking, everything was flawless. Anytime I needed information, I received quick, polite, and very detailed responses, making the experience even smoother. The house is spacious, extremely well-equipped, and spotlessly clean. Every kitchen, bed, and bath item was available and in excellent condition, providing exceptional comfort. The location is another highlight: perfect for exploring Bruges on foot, with easy access to the city's main attractions. And speaking of Bruges – what an incredible city! One of the most beautiful and welcoming places I have ever visited. Everything about this stay was unforgettable, and I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to experience Bruges at its best!
