How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe pool is nice and the staff is very polite
The place is different from the photos. There is a serious need for maintenance. Do to the lack of maintenance the place looks dirtier than it is. There were trash and dirty under the beds. The price paid for the stay is way over what is offered.
Oh... We are so sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We thank you for your feedback and will take it into consideration.

Verified reviewIt has a pool, and a restaurant so you don't need to venture out to eat. It is also close to a beach where you can swim (and I'm fairly certain if you put your mind to it you could find yourself a little beach party). The owner, and everyone who works there are super friendly and helpful. Also there is a cat! Oh and a veranda upstairs. And it's right opposite the beach (not the one where you can swim, because the Atlantic is wild, but you can go for a walk for sure)
I didn't like my room at all.. This might be in part due to where I stayed the previous nights, and also I am fussy. In the middle of the night the power went, meaning the aircon died.. It came back on shortly after but unfortunately the generator was right outside my room and very noisy.. And shortly after the aircon died again, and the fan didn't do enough to help..

Verified reviewLocation was fantastic Breakfast was a bit basic, but staff were friendly and attentive. Pool was nice Seating areas and terracing were great, with wonderful views of the beach and sea
Check out was a total disaster. No cards accepted, hidden charges suddenly revealed. Staff who were previously quite friendly became quite rude The owner was sly and deceitful about me leaving a day early.

Verified reviewExcellent location next to a stunning beach front with the best running track I found in West Africa. Friendly staff and a restaurant with sweeping views.
Bathrooms are very small and cleaning should have been daily.

Verified reviewBeachfront location. Short taxi ride or 30 mins walk to the centre. Clean swimming pool. Dining and bar areas are spacious. The room and communal areas were very clean. Good air con in room. The owner, Marcos was very helpful and friendly. He arranged a car to take us out for day trips and to take us to the airport.
The rooms could do with an upgrade particularly the bathrooms. The sunbeds by the pool need replacing.

Verified reviewThis was already my third stay at the Tahiti Hotel. The rooms are super nice and neat, views more than beautiful and the place is located in the most beautiful part of the city, if you ask from me. The owner and the staff make you really feel like you’re having a home from home. My absolute favourite is to come out in the morning, take a little swim in the pool, enjoy my brekkie with the amazing seaview from the restaurant. Then just a short beachwalk away and you enter a most amazing beach and surfspot. Also on some days the chilled out rooftop terrace can be all you need for a nice remote working spot or just a place to rest your thoughts for a moment. I hope to be back soon again.
Nothing to complain about, hence the coming back for three times so far. And more to come!:)
Thank you

Verified reviewThis review is on behalf of my parents who loved every bit of their stay: We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful beachfront location, with stunning views right from the terrace. The owner is incredibly kind, speaks several languages, and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. The food, all cooked by the owner himself, was a highlight, especially the delicious New Year’s Eve dinner, which we celebrated together in such a warm and festive atmosphere. When we had a small issue with the bathroom, it was immediately taken care of with great attention and care. Exploring the area was easy thanks to the convenient driver service, as taxis are hard to find. If you’re looking for a place where you feel safe, relaxed, and truly at home away from home, this is it!

Verified reviewI had an incredible stay at this hotel! The owner is exceptionally helpful, speaks multiple languages, and goes above and beyond to assist with every detail of your stay. One of the highlights was definitely the food, cooked by the owner himself. Every meal was delicious, and it’s especially convenient since there are very few restaurants in the area. Another fantastic feature is the driver service. If you’re planning to explore, having a driver is essential as taxis are hard to come by, and this service made everything so much easier. Lastly, the location is unbeatable. Situated directly on the beach, you can enjoy the sound of the waves and breathtaking views right from the terrace. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and seamless getaway!
I couldn't think of any.
