How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is the perfect place for a cosy, romantic getaway! The location is perfect, close to the centre but still far enough to get piece and quiet. Let along the view, wauw! Besides that, the host Diego is incredibly friendly and hospitable. We got a warm welcome and were even allowed to use the room again after our trip and after checking out. You just feel at home, immediately! I would have loved more night there!
Nothing, nada, niks!

Verified reviewThe location was beautiful.
It was a bit away from the village, either you needed a taxi or you needed to walk.

Verified reviewThe property is so beautiful with cute animals everywhere. The room is spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location is great, it sits on the hill only 5 minutes walk to the city center. We love the breakfast, Diego made the best breakfast for us every morning, it’s the best we had in South America. Diego made sure we had a good time, super helpful super friendly, we really love our stay here. Highly recommended!!

Verified reviewColina Verde is a dream place to stay in the idyllic village of Samaipata. Whether you are an outdoor active person (like me) or you are just seeking for a quiet location to relax in contact with nature, that's the ideal place for you. If you know the song "Return to innocence" by Enigma, well, that would be the ideal sountrack for a place like this :) My room was spacious, comfortable, clean, overviewing a huge garden (with sheeps, llamas, and dogs). The windows are provided with mosquito nets to keep unwanted guests out at night;) The kitchen is small but equipped with all the essentials for cooking, and a refrigerator. The owner is extremely helpful and down to earth; he helped me with my luggage and gave me local tips about Samaipata, the local public transport, etc. Maybe consider bringing a head torch or pocket lamp if you are coming back home by foot after dark, because the last about 100 meters of the gravel road are not illuminated.
Everything was above perfection!

Verified reviewYou are getting what you are paying for. Room was reasonable size and had a small kitchen area if you want to do food preparation or storage. Have clothes line outside for hanging any wash which was convenient. Hosts were friendly and helpful.
Beds are not the most comfortable. Shower has one of the electric heaters built into shower head...passable for price. About a 10 minute walk to town which is fine as long as it is not raining as the path gets muddy quickly. You can get a motor bike ride from town to the location very easily and cheaply. Remember to bring a flashlight to walk in the dark. Excluding the guest room which was very clean, we just felt the place needs a bit more attention to cleanliness and tidiness. Again, you are generally getting something in line with the rate you are paying.

Verified reviewAmazing location and a great breakfast. Diego was fantastic and extremely helpful. Also really appreciated having filtered water in the kitchen.
Only downside was the water in the bathrooms was a little brown although we were told this was normal this time of year.

Verified reviewDiego was an amazing host. He welcomed us at 3:00 in the morning from Sucre. In the morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast spread. At first 30 BOB seemed steep for breakfast but it’s actually a great deal compared to other options in Samaipata. The views from the Colina are amazing but it’s still only a 5 minute walk from downtown, making it a perfect location. We were also allowed to continue to hangout on the property for the entire day following the night that we booked, as our bus didn’t leave until 10:00. Cannot recommend Colina Verde enough!

Verified reviewColina Verde overlooks Samaipata from a small hill just outside of the center of town. Host Diego is relaxed and flexible, and arriving in the dead of night was not a problem at all. The guest house is set in a very large garden with various animals, including llama’s, chickens, and goats roaming freely. A special mention for Chickie, a lovely dog who easily makes friends with all travellers (and seems to be the best friend of all other animals on the property).

Verified reviewWe spend 4 nights in Casa Verde and we felt very welcome during our stay! Diego was an awesome and communicative host who fullfilled many of our wishes. We even could get into ours rooms at 5AM in the morning when we arrived after a long night bus ride and Diego also put on the oven twice for us when we were cold. Simple rooms, reasonable prices, great hospitality, farm-like feeling with lots of cute animals, good view over Samaipata, nice common areas. Thanks for our stay!

Verified reviewGreat hotel - gorgeous location just out of town. Diego went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable - the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious - one of the best we’ve had in the last month in Bolivia. Highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to town.

Verified reviewThere was a beautiful field surrounding the place that was very calm and nice. The host was very friendly and it was clean
I thought it was overpriced for what it was. Right before this i stayed in much nicer place for cheaper with super breakfast included (unfortunately they were overbooked for the days i needed). I had to pay for the breakfast here on top of it being expensive. Was a ripoff i thought. The shower was not working properly with much water overflowing from the side and additionally creating flood in the bathroom
