The mattress in my room was a bit worn out.

La Casa de Teresita was a home base for me when I was grounded in LaPaz due to an eye infection. It is a mix between hotel and museum (which is the long-term goal of its owner). I was looking for a quiet, comfortable, yet not too far-out place from where I could venture day trips. After long days in La Paz and in the mornings I found quietude in its lovely gardens. The room was immaculate and the shower exceeded the standard in La Paz by far. Breakfast was great, too, with fresh juice and great coffee. If you are interested, ask Ernesto about the history of the house. It is the house of his parents, but there are a lot more interesting facts to learn about it. There are many exhibits and art that not only relate to his family, but also to the history of Bolivia. It really is an exceptional place to stay at and I greatly enjoyed it.

The house has a very interesting history and is full of beautiful objects. There is a lovely sunny garden, the breakfast was ample with endless cups of real coffee. Most of all, the owner couldn't have been more accommodating. He made a big difference to the stay and clearly enjoys making his guests happy. He was full of good tips and helped us navigate the city including the cable cars.

La Casa de Teresita is a tranquil retreat with a lovely garden in a nice neighborhood of La Paz. The view from the gardens over the city and mountains in the background is amazing! It is so peaceful there, and everyone is so kind, helpful, and friendly. The tour of the main house is really neat to see all of the history of Bolivia and the family who owns the house. It is easy to step out the door to grab a taxi and go 10 minutes to the historic center, or just stay and enjoy the grounds and the neighborhood it is in. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from all within a 10 minute stroll. The breakfast is tasty, the shower is strong and hot, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are large with plenty of counter space and closet space to keep things organized. We loved our stay here and look forward to another visit!

The location isn't ideal - a bit far from where everything tends to happen from a tourism standpoint in La Paz. I did walk the 50 minutes consistently uphill to the Witches Market for my walking tour, so it's not necessary to Uber/taxi everywhere from this hotel.

This hotel is in a beautiful old heritage building and is like stepping back in time when you walk through the door! The room was huge and the bed was perfect! Breakfast was a bit more basic than I was expecting, but served its purpose. Staff were welcoming and helpful when I arrived somewhat later in the evening from Copacabana. It's also in a seemingly quite safe and quieter area in La Paz.

The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet and the shower has good pressure and is warm. It has a historical theme and even has a museum in the large house… worth seeing for a slice of Bolivian history. Nice local style breakfast.

Our 10/10 rating goes beyond the ordinary review of the facilities…Ernesto, host and owner, shared in perfect English his knowledge and love of La Paz. He is always available to answer questions and offer advice for sightseeing and events. The house is set amidst foreign embassies and the property is peaceful with gardens and a relaxing atmosphere while still being a direct 5-10 minutes ride (30 minutes walk) to downtown. The property is a heritage home and the rooms are tastefully renovated with a modern touch, especially the bathrooms with wonderfully hot and powerful showers! Each morning you are treated to a simple yet delicious breakfast. If possible, stay on a Friday or Saturday as directly across the street is a Jazz club with fantastic views of the city!

Nothing that we can think of!

From the moment you walk from the hustle & bustle of the La Paz streets and into the peace of the front garden, you know you are staying someplace special. Originally built in 1916, this was the home of Dr xxx and Teresita. Their sons have turned the home into bed and breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, the showers nice and hot. But for the full experience, take the time to explore the house! You feel like you are walking back in time! Family photos and art work are displayed throughout the property. The music room contains 2 vintage pianos and the halls are filled with family memorabilia. Ask Ernesto and he will show you photos of his grandfather & great-grandfather during one of the many Bolivian revolutions. We highly recommend Casa Teresita & will stay again if ever we come back to La Paz!

    I liked it all.

Superb!!. Amid the bustle of out of control taxis in the city is this and well kept quiet oasis. Very private and well laid out, with top notch rooms at the rear of a very nice home. Everything one needs was provided and the rooms were very good indeed. The host was a friendly, accommodating and welcoming person - and very interesting. Off street parking provided and a very good breakfast in a seperate dining area below the rooms. The owner and staff went out of their way to help and inform guests. These places are hard to find and La Casa de Teresita is an absolute must stay if you are visiting La Paz. Very secure property. An easy 10.

Just minor details: a water cooker for example would be a nice addition, so you are able to make your own tea.

Really friendly host!! The shower was great, it was very new and there was stable hot water. The rooms are very quiet, you don't hear the street at all. The bed is comfortable. There is electric heating available. The room is spacious and it is easy to store your stuff (also in the bathroom). Good breakfast with great bread! Great location in a safe neighborhood, there are good restaurants at 10-15 min walking. The teleferico (blanco and naranja) is at 5 min walking. The city center and bus terminal is 15 min driving.
