Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I liked the stay
Very comfy bed for a hostel! Good shared space, although it was empty when I was there which I quite liked. Also they provide free coffee!

The 3 style bunk bed made it a bit tight but it wasn't too bad. The pillows felt like concrete
The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was simple but good! The rooms are okay, location is good it is in-between most attractions

Bed wasn’t super comfortable. Was a 3 bed bunk. Being in the middle was challenging.
Breakfast was pretty good. Showers and toilets were clean and in good condition. Pool area was cool. Was a good vibe throughout.

It’s quite noisy, the bed is not too comfortable. OK if you need to sleep somewhere for less money. It’s also further from beaches and stores, restaurants.
The hammocks were nice, and it’s cheap.

Unclean pool. Private rooms could do with more servicing as our toilet and beds weren’t seen to in 4 days.
Nice vibey hostel. Good areas to relax and meet people. Friendly staff. Quiet area.

This hostel have a lot of rules that’s make it to be sucks and unsocial - you can’t sit outside after midnight (even if you keep on silent), you are not allowed to hear music in the kitchen… most of the stuff were super not nice and bad vibes, feels like they make you a favor when they helps you. There was only one nice worker the rest were super annoying. The wifi is really bad
The hostel is clean and beautiful.

The only thing I have to say negative about this A Coroa is that, the feminine shared room is right in front of a social area, so some people stay up till late and we can hear it all…some arrived late from parties and the voices was very loud…a part of that Everything else was perfect, very nice atmosphere and games to play… I wanna come back but I would stay in a different room.

When I arrive at 6a.m they wouldn't let me in until 8:30am. They did me a "favor" by letting me put my begs inside, but they won't let me go into the property. Not even the common area. I never encountered such a wired house rule. Other than making me feel very unwelcome, I think it's also quite dangerous
The hostel facilities are exceptional. Very nice design, very clean place, well maintained.

The location of the hostel is not terrible but also not ideal. Considering that Arraial is fairly small, you still need to walk at least 10-15 minutes to most bars and restaurants as well as to any beaches. Also, the rooms have bunk beds with three beds on top of each other - I was lucky enough not to get the highest beds, but I feel sorry for any guest who gets one of those...
The hostel is a great place to meet people thanks to its lovely common area around the pool including a bar that functions at night. I also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen (that was also in use a lot) and the friendly and helpful staff.

Clean hostel but was never soap in the upstairs bathroom during my 3 days staying. Same with toilet paper, it was no available for hours. I think it can be a better administration to run better the place. Bunks are too high and very uncomfortable to climb up to the middle, I was afraid of falling every time. Can't receive visitors.

Unstable WiFi, cold water in the shower, loud music for the morning until late at night so some rooms are unbelievably noisy from around 7am to ~24pm

90% of the people in the hostel are Brazilian. also the visitors (people not staying at the hostel) were not allowed to enter.
