The bed was so very uncomfortable! Really need to invest in a new mattress, both our backs are hurting now after staying here for 3 days. Building work was going on so woke us up at 7am 2 mornings. Boat tour that was organised didn’t have any snorkels left, so went on a boat tour and had no snorkels to explore in the sea, very disappointing

Bedroom door didn’t lock and it was right at the entrance of the hostel, locker we had to pay deposit for was broken and there was no other locker available in the room so not great if you have expensive things you want to pack away for the day. Aircon was freezing! Can’t turn it down - the reception keep the remote

Beds are comfy and room was big and spacious with a big bathroom, always clean in the room. Staff were really nice.

The mattress wasn’t clean, and during the peak season in the island it’s quite common that the power shutdown in the whole village, but most establishments have power generators, but this hostel doesn't, so the air conditioning didn't work for a few days and it became very uncomfortable to sleep due to the heat.

To be honest, I'm not sure how this hostel has such a high rating. Sure it was OK, but not amazing. You have to pay to hire bath towels. I stayed in the private room with bathroom. Unfortunately, I had people walking by and urinating right next to my window regularly. I'm not sure if the side of the hostel was a walkway between streets? This obviously isn't the fault of the hostel but just something to be mindful of if you get that room 😂

Bathroom could use some attention. Door knobs broken, one shower has no door the other one has a broken door that doesn’t close. So I just hoped nobody come in when I was showering, and it didn’t really bother me. But there are many other bathrooms and showers outside of the room to use.

Fun and good location. Lots of restaurants, bars and stores around. The hostel has a good bar and restaurant. Also turns to a club at Saturday night with a live band playing Forro music! I love it! The staff Antonela is the best!!! She was so friendly and patient to answer all our questions and gave us suggestions about tours and places to go! she is really fun, helpful and amazing!

kitchen wasn’t fully equipped, showers kinda dirty but we just wore flip flops, the bathroom near us had to sit on it sideways as the door is so close to your knees lol. We think many people come here for a holiday to escape other parts of Brazil, everyone we met here and in our room were form Brazil, meaning they were partying every night and waking us up when they came in, but for a dorm I guess it’s normal to experience this

Great location, comfortable dorm bed, has 2 small kitchens you can use and a restaurant - the Argentinian empanadas were absolutely delicious.

Good price. Private Room is good. Nice forest view. Location is convenient 5 minutes walk to the jetty 1 minute from shops. Kitchen to use with fridge, pots, boiler … They have Lonely Planet.

Everyone spoke German. Aircon inside the bedroom was not on until very late. Very hot. When a lot of backpackers, there were backpacks and stuff all over the floor inside the bedroom. Obviously not enough storage for guests. There was only a small rack for drying wet clothes. How can they expect an island with so many beaches guests don't have any swimming wear and towels to dry? No where to even dry my tiny little bikinis.

I saw 1-2 staff working very hard every morning to do cleaning. They washed the bins from the toilet inside out. Also every corner of the public area. The bathrooms were normally very clean. Shower very strong. I had a live band playing next to me while I was taking a shower.

It’s very loud. It wasn’t even as if we wanted to go to sleep early but it’s just that in the dorms you can hear everything going on in all of the common areas of the hostel. It was loud until the early hours and then again early in the morning so it was tough to get any sleep.

It was in a good location! Hammocks were nice for chilling! Staff were helpful!

They dont provide soap for the toilets, I got sick here. This is unacceptable, it is 2025 and post covid and they dont provide soap. Absolutely disgusting. Mosquitos in the room, since they keep Windows open during the day.

Guys there is no soul in the hostel anymore. There is no joint communal activities, no effort to make it more social, it was lacking in colour, fun, love, and was dark and depressing. Businesses become successful when customers come again in the future, or recommend to a friend. Life time value is a very important metric. Research this. It will help you. I left early because I was not comfortable, they only put the aircon in the rooms from 10 PM - 2 AM, which is extremely frugal (in a dorm full of people) it was hot, sticky and difficult to sleep. The bathrooms were horrible because the mold has got out of hand. It wasn't nice guys, i's not going to make money unless big changes are made.
