Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I’m not able to speak and understand Portuguese, but she communicated well to me with translation apps. The room was pretty good like antique atmospheres.

Lucas was very helpful. I arrived before the check in time and he had his lovely wife open the door for me. He even sent a taxi to pick me up from the station. I loved the property, My room was great. The breakfast is abundant and Luiza the manager very nice and friendly. I highly recommend Casa do Cha.

We had a great time at Casa do Chá! Our host was very friendly, gave us a tour around the house, and helped us with getting a cab. The location was ideal and the facilities were very comfortable. I highly recommend this place for a weekend trip to Ouro Preto.

Two things could be improved on. One is room comfort: there is a strong artificial light from a lamp on the street side that projected light in the room at night, via a window with no curtains that is in the wardrobe area (it was partially protected by an internal door that, however, did not fully close and let the light come through). Sleeping has been difficult with the light. Also, we visited in winter time and there was no heating at night, the room gets cold due to the large stone walls. The second thing is cleaning: we found the floor partially clean, and beneath one of the two beds we found a pair of used socks.

Excellent location with the extra bonus of a very nice view if you have a room on the street side. The interior is nicely organised and furnished, the rooms ample. Staff has been nice and helpful. Snack is offered in the afternoon time with tea and cake.

The room I had (Cha Verde) was advertised as a suite of 30 sqm. It's a room with a bathroom and a patio. The room size is perhaps 20 sqm including the bathroom. So don't expect a "suite" if you go there. That said, I enjoyed my stay there.

Street lights by our room were so bright and strong that it was very hard to sleep at night. We notified the front desk about it. We were told that they would be turned off, but they were not. It would be nice to have the choice, or an extra set of blackout curtains. The breakfast was good, just heavy on bread. No pepper available for some reason.

Very close to main square, extremely helpful staff, beautiful view of the city. The kitchen facilities allow you to buy your own stuff and store it in the fridge. There is also a water filter to fill up your bottles and cut down on plastic waste.

Absolutely beautiful property, fantastic location and the staff were incredibly helpful, so much so the owner of the property drove me 3 hours to my next destination. The view from my room was stunning. It feels like a home away from home, is spotlessly clean and the decor just gorgeous. Highly recommended.

There was no option for laundry, at the timd we have been there, so the young lady , who run the place took our laundry and made it herself at home. You really feel there like at home. One of the best places,maybe the best,we had during our trip to Brazil.

- We had issues with street noise on our first night, from friday to saturday. During that whole morning there were people talking near the window of our room. However, this only happened for one night. - I had a little trouble finding a parking space at first when I arrived the first day.

- The employees who served us are very polite. I had very interesting conversations about the city with the person who made breakfast. - Breakfast is very tasty. - The location of the guesthouse is pretty good. - We had a nice view from the window. - A differential was having a snack available at any time.

Below is a café which plays music that was perfectly audible in my room, however they close at around 20h so it:s not disturbing at night time.

The bed was uncomfortable and all the rooms with city views have street noise. Also, we were told that breakfast was available until 10am and recommended that we order the scrambled eggs with cheese since it was the house specialty. We were only there for 1 night, so when we woke up and arrived at the breakfast area at 9:50 excited about having breakfast, we were told that it was too late. That at 10am on the dot they'd have to remove the breakfast and that they didn't even know there was anyone still in the house. We asked kindly that they please reconsider but they said no. For a B&B style place, it was unexpected and unpleasant.

The location was excellent and the decor was very cozy.
