The quality of the room for the price is pretty bad. We paid about $50/night for a private room for 2 people (granted it had extra beds in it), and while it was comfortable enough, it looked like it was falling apart (walls visibly wet with humidity, kinda dirty). In every other place we’ve traveled in Brazil, a place like this would probably cost about half. That said, it seems like accommodation is expensive (for what your get) in this whole region, and the alternative options were much more expensive.

Staff was nice and helpful. View of the river out back is beautiful. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was very impressive.

the room was a bit mouldy, my locker was broken, after telling the staff three times it was finally fixed, all in all it took a day, luckily I could store my important things in another guests locker for this time

Owner and staff are very polite, cheerful and helpful. Bed linen are cleaned daily, as is the whole rest of the property. Breakfast is full of options, environment is relaxed and river front. Mattresses are comfortable

The hostel is very noisy as it's near the road. At close to midnight, staff was checking guest in. Almost impossible to sleep.

their phrase ‘make yourself at home’ is mainly implemented by the guys staying there: it feels like you’re staying at a bachelor’s house - groups of guys, pot smoking in the backyard, dimly lit at night in outside area, looking run-down and 10 years older than the fotos on booking. it’s also not as calm, there is a sort of bar at the river next door during the day and at night there’s loud music on the square in front. it seems like this place’s good days are some years behind already. I switched after one night. also when I switched and told them I didn‘t feel comfortable at their hostel, they didn‘t even inquire why. it‘s not like they care really or want to improve anything.

Its charming but could use an update.

Great location on the river in the centre of town and close to the bus station. A nice breakfast is served with fruit, eggs, toasted sandwiches and fresh juice.

Private room is not in the hostel but different location. Came there and there was no running water so couldnt shower or use the tub. Message the owner on WhatsApp, doesnt respond for 5 hours.Tells me more or less how to fix the water, it was turned off... Promises a refund, i ask to exchange it for another night, owner starts a fight with me on WhatsApp. Left the place because i did not feel save. There is alot more to this story but i dont want to write a book. Look for another place, this is a disaster.

Place looks really old; maybe Im just not used to staying in hostels, but it was really a stretch for me personally to be able to stay there at all (I had a single room)

Location was a nice 5 min walk from the bars and restaurants, I always felt safe
