The beds could be more comfortable

The whole place is just peaceful, has the biggest swimming pool I have seen in a hostel and all is well kept.

The Hippie House wouldn’t be the cleanest of stays and wouldn’t think it would compare with the other rooms inside the main house.

This is one of the best Hostels I've stayed at in South America! Such a cool and chilled hostel. Awesome facilities, massive pool, comfy beds, good air-conditioning and amazing breakfast every morning. Good restaurant and bar a the hostel, never have to leave! The best part about the place were the workers, made me feel like my home, I booked for 2 nights but ended up there a week. Klaus and Lubio are legends! Thanks for everything! Always keen to hang out and chat, had good recommendations and good chats. Miss this place and the people very much. Highly recommended!

When they clean the room, they open the windows which is nice, however did result in mosquitoes in the room.

The room is spacious with a comfy bed, a fan and AC. It’s so clean, and is cleaned daily. Breakfast is great and included. The whole place feels very safe, and is only a 10 min walk from Paraty centre. Great pool and social area.

Beautiful property. Lovely manicured grounds with beautiful trees and plants and a gorgeous pool. Our private room was good with a decent bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and the staff lovely

Only a few plugs and not by the bed, air con didn’t really work. Also location is a bit out of the way, but not so much that it mattered, if you don’t mind walking 10-15 mins into town

we had a good stay at Casa viva, the breakfast was really nice and filling, and it attracted a lovely group of people. the room was big and we enjoyed the pool. nice outdoor seating and friendly staff

yes, it‘s not right in the center but a short, nice 5 mins walk in a nice and safe neighbourhood, absolutely not a problem. (no kitchen to use/just fridge)

Location is a bit far from the bus station, restaurants etc. There was a creepy local guy hanging out at the bar who was really drunk and being inappropriate towards the girls/ making them feel uncomfortable. Not really the fault of the hostel but something they should look out for.

Nice pool although it was raining the whole time I was there so couldn’t enjoy it. Friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms.

I don't know if it's the best place for staying for a long time because I wasn't aware whether the kitchen could be used by guests as well. But nothing that was of any trouble for me during my 2 nights stay.

Very friendly staff, Juan was very helpful with recommendations from where to eat to what to do! The hostel is beautiful and feels like it's right in nature even though it's just a few minutes away from the historic centre of the town. The pool is nicely kept and amazing to enjoy a quick swim in the morning before heading out for any activities.

Location isn’t as ideal as most other hostels as it’s on a main road and on the other side of the river but still not that far to walk. Wi-Fi isn’t ideal

Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good and able to buy drinks/some food at the hostel. There’s a nice communal chill out area out at the front to meet other people

Bathroom was a little bit dirty and outdated and could get a small treatment.

The first room (nearest the main door) i was given was small with an overwhelming odour of damp. Thankfully they moved me to a much nicer room the second day. Both rooms had very tiny, cramped bathrooms.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. A nice breakfast, comfy bed. Quiet neighbourhood. Although on the outskirts you could walk to the old part of town in less than 10 min. Although i enjoyed my stay there, and perhaps i didnt pay enough attention when booking, however the place caters primarily to young backpackers in dorm rooms. Perhaps something to bare in mind if you dont fall into that group.

- bad smell in the dorm room - breakfast is supposed to start at 8am but mostly they start taking the orders 10past 8 and it takes like 10-15 minutes until the breakfast arrives … I had to catch the bus early on the last day of my stay and didn’t have the time to enjoy breakfast, because I just had like 5 minutes to eat - no laundry service at hostel - no self cook kitchen (always had to ask them to warm up my food or had to order my meals somewhere)

Very clean, comfortable and cute. It had a nice atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. It’s around 10–15 minutes walking from the town centre. Good breakfast too.

Bathroom of our dorm room should have been cleaner - we asked them to clean it and they did, which makes it a bit odd it wasn't being properly cleaned in the first place, but at least it was cleaner then (but still not quite up to standard). Didn't have a communal kitchen and the restaurant stopped serving food at 8. No individual lights and not many plug sockets in rooms.

The communal spaces were fantastic! Lovely peaceful hostel with a great bar and restaurant and a great pool. Beautiful gardens around the pool. The friendliest staff ever, they really made our stay!
