We had a wonderful stay at Pousada Estrela do Mar! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Ilana, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She made us feel right at home and gave us great tips about the area. The atmosphere of the pousada is cozy and relaxing, and everything was clean and well taken care of. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We booked a escuna tour which was great. The information about a trip to Praia Cruzeiro could be more accurate, we managed to arrange at half the price, just by getting there.

This place definitely exceeded my expectations. The rooms were small but clean and had space to hang clothes. The WiFi was great and the breakfast was also really good! It's over the bridge from the main town but not far to walk at all. Would highly recommend a stay here!

The only thing the property could improve on is better closet space in the rooms.

The landscape on the property was beautiful. It gave the whole place the vibe of a tropical oasis. The pool area and the game room were great. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was amazing! Lots of options of fruit, breads and juice. The staff was friendly and had some great tips on restaurants and day trips.

Not the hotel's fault but you can't book an uber to come to Paraty and take you anywhere else (Sao Paolo, Rio) so it's best to do the bus or come in a rented car.

The fruit at breakfast was wonderful and the juices were definitely freshly squeezed and not out of a carton.

The historic center of the city is a bit far from the lodging, but it's not necessarily a problem. The 25-minute walk is pleasant. If you'd like to have a good time in the evenings while in Paraty, it may be best to stay within the city. But if you prefer a tranquil atmosphere, the pousada is a suitable accommodation option for you. The breakfast should begin earlier.

The breakfast is ample, and the ambiance is pleasing. The employees are very friendly and observant. For instance, they were available at the end moment to assist me in finding transportation to the Rodoviaria.

Good breakfast, pool a little dirty, staff were not very agreeable - language barrier and lack of customer service. Thin walls between rooms - could hear everything from other rooms and outside. It’s a significant 20-25 min walk from main historic centre of paraty and we had difficulty finding uber at times.

Room 7 had an issue which I reported the first night, yet didn’t get fully fixed- an air con unit caused the entire room to vibrate, meaning very little sleep the first night. Staff did what they could but not ideal.

Location was a little out of town but meant there was a nice walk (despite the rain). Rooms were clean & comfortable.

I had read other recommendations saying that the beds were hard and it is true - they are quite uncomfortable and I was happy we only stayed there for two night. Expect for that I will only mention one negative thing - the morning we were checking out, the staff at the reception was nowhere to be found even though I had talked to him the night before about the fact that we needed to check out at 8AM the following morning. He didn’t arrive until 8:35 which was quite stressful as we had to run out to catch our bus to São Paulo. I thought it was quite unprofessional that he was unable to show up knowing that guests were dependent on him but I will say that other than that, we had no problems with the staff and they were all very nice.

The place is really nice, great common areas and nice pool. The breakfast is really nice and offers great variety. It isn’t served until 8:30 though and they are very strict about that, which seems a little silly. The rooms are nice, not that big, but everything was at the standard we expected for the price.

The rooms were tidy and comfortable - but ours were a bit smaller than we expected. Maybe some other rooms have better facilities and location within the building.

Reception was very unwelcoming, controlling and unhelpful. Very keen to describe the rules of the property, not so keen on welcoming the guests. Room has no casual chairs, and photo of property seriously overstated the size of the rooms. Property is poorly maintained. Breakfast starts too late For, later than other similar properties. For price, description and photos I was expecting a more than comfortable stay. Very disappointing.
