My room said "Lake View" but the hostel isn't witoon sight of the lake. Bit confusing.

Very friendly staff with extensive cooking facilities. There was a great common area with books, a TV and a pool table which led to quite a social atmosphere. Location was great, neR to two supermarkets and with loads of trails either starting nearby or within a short bus ride away.

We had good experience on this book, the receptionists was really nice and informed a few tips about places to visit and etc. If you want to grab a beer or soda they have a bar also and they are very receptive. Totally recommeded.

Really nice place to stay. It's very spacious with hammocks, bean bag chairs etc to chill. Free pool, table tennis, swimming pool, deck chairs. You could rent kayaks and surfboards. It had a TV in the lounge and they played live football matches like Champions League. Plug sockets by beds but no curtains, AC in the room and also decent sized lockers. Really nice bilingual staff. Possible to meet other solo travellers also. The hostel was always clean and has a good kitchen. WIFI was strong and worked everywhere. Highly recommend Geckos as a base for exploring Floripa!

This hostel is great and is in a brilliant location for exploring the island (as lots of buses go from Lagoa, the town the hostel is in) and close to places to eat etc. The hostel has a really nice vibe, social and easy to meet people, but also easy to relax at night and in the common areas. I loved the BBQ on the Wednesday night which really helped me to meet people and enjoy some great food. Brilliant staff too!

AC didn't feel all that powerful but still fine

Great hostel! Awesome staff, good vibes, good parties. Pool was a good size and shower spacious. Nice hangout area inside with beanbag chairs around the tv, ping pong tournaments and billiard. No complaints really :)

One of the most social and fun hostels I’ve ever stayed at. came back for a second time because it was such a great experience. The staff is super friendly and have a lot of tips for what to do in Floripa. Perfect for solo travelers because it’s easy to find likeminded people there. also the location in the middle of Lagoa is perfect.

The only thing that's not perfect about this place is the kitchen stove, which is quite weak. A little bit more fire would go a long way cooking wise.

The staff is absolutely amazing, the rooms are clean and spacious. It's the best hostel I've ever been to.

The dorms are somewhat rough and ready. The light in the dorm that I stayed in was poor, one of the showers didn’t seem to have a temperature dial and it all just felt a little thrown together.

The property is really well located, next to a host of local amenities and right by the Lagoon. The staff are helpful and friendly. The common area amenities are great for socialising.

The layout of the room was weird. We booked a private double room and it was a room filled with bunk beds, with a double bed put up in the corner. The room was also very cold.

The hostel was a good locations, with beaches and restaurants nearby.

I got dengue and had to extend my stay as I was so sick. The hostel staff really worried about getting the money for the next night instead of trying to provide any care while I had 40 degrees of fever and couldn't get myself out of the bed. When I told the hostel staff that I am really sick and feel horrible, I was told „It is ok, just pay“. That was quite upsetting as I was alone and already worried for my health. I understand the hostel policy but I would have really expected some concern and care in such a case of medical emergency, rather than only worrying about the payment.

They didn't allow outside alcohol, yet constantly ran out of various beer types, leaving drinkers to switch to different beer with each purchase. The inside common area and reception are essentially open-air to the front patio and despite having no-smoking signs posted on the wall of the patio, smoking was allowed. As a result, the entire reception and common area was exposed to smoke throughout the day. The shared bathroom closest to my room rarely had hot water and the water pressure was a trickle. The kitchen and fridge space were also too small for the number of guests using it daily.

The staff was generally nice and helpful. The hostel has a great social vibe to it, with a combo pool and ping-pong table, plus a swimming pool, as well as a bar. There was a small market next door and a really nice fresh fruit and vegetable market less than 5-minute walk away.

A member of the staff decided to think on my behalf, and decide that I am an introvert who likes calm places. Never asked for her tip but when such advice is based on a negative assumption it is insulting. Keep an open mind about your guests.

Outdated and broken

Extremely over priced for a an outdated building. The staff are lovely and helpful! Sociable hostel and great location. But extremely outdated and facilities broken, not worth the price.

Private room was more expensive but the dorm room looked nicer! also someone ate our food quite annoyingly…

The pool was nice, kitchen was spacious and staff were lovely.
