An outdoor area would have got it a 10/10 (and I have NEVER given 10/10)

The staff were extremely friendly and encouraged us to practice our terrible Portuguese. The kitchen had everything we needed and communal areas were comfortable. The location is wonderful with beautiful views and an astounding dawn chorus every morning from the local bird life (assisted by the city’s cachorros!)

Only minor things, the bed was a little bit on the stiff side, and the wi-fi kept reconnecting every few minutes. Finding a place to park nearby might take some time, but the location is good so there's little reason to move the car after parking.

The hostel is close to a bakery and some small markets, it was easy to pick different things for breakfast every day. The location was quite good and we were able to visit every place we wanted to go by foot. The attendants were nice, and we even went out together sometimes.

Super nice Staff! Luis makes Delicious coffee! Very clean and spacious. Kitchen is very well equipped, they have an oven, microwave and an Air fryer. They even have wet trowels in the toilet. Location is close to the center, be prepared to walk up and down those hills!

The bathrooms were located on the main floor and showers in the basement so a bit far from the room upstairs.

Hostel was in a good location, close to town. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Beds were comfortable.

The toilet is on lower floor. It is not too convenient to get down to the toilet at night.

The room is comfortable. A good kitchen. Good location. Nice staff.

It’s the perfect place to stay. Right in the center and all the people working there are lovely. In fact I spent 2 evenings hanging out with them and we had a great time! Lots of beautiful things to do around with easy access to buses and such. Foi maravilhoso!

The hostel is small but it has everything you need.

History Hostel is in a good area not too far from the center offering very comfortable accommodation. The hostel is simple, clean, and have modern facilities. I like how they put a lot of thought in designing the hostel to have all that a traveler needs for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen is well equipped and is available for use and they have small areas for chilling, meeting people, or doing a bit of work. They also have a small outdoor area for laundry, and have rfid keys for security. Everything is clean and organized. This is beyond what I normally see in many many hostels. The best part is that the hosts, and volunteers were very welcoming and friendly. They have plenty of recommendations for your stay in Ouro Preto. It is clear that Italo and his team work hard to make this space feel like home. Hudson, especially has very good taste in music :) History is one of the best hostels I have stayed at. I felt at home.

Period property reinvented for modern times! Awesome vibes, great views and layout. Hospitality of the staff is amazing as well as their helpfulness. Extremely clean and walking distance to everywhere including the bus terminal, the million and one churches of Ouro Preto and Mines

Is a nice, clean and well located hostel managed with care, attention and passion. There are all the best common areas, very well equipped. Indeed the quality and stability of the internet is a highlight.

the toilet could have been cleaned better; there was a bar of soap left from the last visitor.

good location in the heart of the historic town. love the attention to detail in highlighting that the property is a heritage structure, the staff was very enthusiastic in sharing the history of the building and the room that i was staying in. a full kitchen and water refill station are available for guests. whatsapp support throughout the stay- places to go and general help is available and useful.

Quick response from owner about the inquiries, owner is friendly and helpful though do not speak much English. They send info to clients on how to arrange visit which is great. Very clean and kitchen can be used. Close to main square.

The first thing that catches your attention is the receptiveness of the hosts, they make you feel at ease and give lots of tips about the city and restaurants. The room was extremely tidy and fragrant. Bathrooms were all clean and fragrant too. This Hostel is different, you feel at home. Not to mention that it is close to the main tourist attractions.

10 reasons this hostel deserves all the high ratings, I'd give them 100 stars if I could! Don't think twice, book here, thank me later. Perfect location, best hosts, super super clean, excellent quality at a very good price, washer/dryer (YES!), really well equipped kitchen (blender, air fryer, all the usual) great showers, comfortable beds with plugs and your own individual fan, privacy curtains, huge security lockers, 24 hour access, beautiful mountain view, details and super tips for tourist attractions on a budget, etc. Also I had so much fun with the other guests here. The hosts went with us one night to a microbrewery and a panoramic viewpoint after, really a special evening. I actually visited 2 other hostels where a friend worked, slightly higher prices but not nearly as nice as History Hostel. By far the very best place in town. Ah, and Ouro Preto is a must visit if you're near Rio or São Paulo. Just go!!

Okay, the noise....the staff and other guests every night were screaming and laughing and speaking loudly every night until 1am, the room i was in was so noisy right next to the street. It isn't a party hostel and the staff were mainly the ones making the noise. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and the mattress protector was made of plastic or something, so everything you'd move the whole room could hear. There was only one toliet and two showers on the top floor and the same on the bottom. However, on the top floor, you could only use one shower as the second one had no door, so it made it a bit of a problem trying to shower with a full hostel.

The hostel itself was amazing, clean bathrooms and clean kitchen with comfortable shared spaces moat of the staff where amazing and would try their hardest to speak English with me.

It has nothing to do with property, however finding a parking spot might be difficult but it’s an historic place so there’s on street parking Regarding the property I have nothing negative to say, all good!
