How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Loved everything. It needs a street sign board outside indicating where the place is.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff and guests, modern and tasteful deco, tranquil setting, air con in excellent working condition; very, very clean and fresh smelly limen, which were presented sealed in plastic; very safe inside and outside surroundings; excellent supermarket/bakery/restaurant around the corner - Pão de Açúcar - bus stop to Vila Mariana metro and other Stations close by; etc etc, oh, within walking distancie is the most luxurious Italian bakery Fiorella - prices sky high but worth a visit anyway! We highly recommend this beautiful hostel! Kézia is a darling of a hostess!

Only one bathroom for a dorm and a private room to share. I’m the morning there was a line for the one toilet.
Everything was clean and the kitchen and shared spaces were modern. The owners are very sweet and accommodating. They don’t speak English but they were extremely kind and patient.

Hostel owner Mrs. Kezia and her staff are very caring and sincere people. the hostel's design, facilities and resting places are good. in a safe neighborhood, very close to shopping centers and supermarkets..

The dorm was really small and didnt have a lot of space.
The hostel was clean and the interior was really nice. Nights were quiet and you could change the airconditioning according to your needs. The showers and bathrooms were clean and there was cold drinking water taps available.

There were no staff on site, so couldn't ask for advice on anything. There were also only 2 other people staying there, so not very social.
The bedroom and kitchen facilities were ok.

❌I wouldn't recommend this hostel. I am an experienced solo traveler and I never felt that UNWELCOME in an hostel. Seriously, I don't know how this hostel is rated 9.2 on Booking. ⚠️Unfriendly and weird atmosphere. ❌1 Bathroom for at least 6 people AND you are not allowed to use other bathroom that the one that they attribute you. No towel or paper napkins to dry your hands. *In the female dorm, the bathroom smelled so bad and a guest told me that they clean it once a week only. ❌ You don't really know who works at the hostel. There is nobody at the reception to help you if you need recommendations of places to visit and how to go there. ❌Some random people get VERY BOSSY on you. I say random people because you don't know if they work at the hostel or not. They tell you that you shouldn't do something when nobody was there to explain to you the rules of the hostel. It is a very weird atmosphere. I felt that I almost have to hold my breath to not be reprehended by I don't know who. ❌Use of WhatsApp, nobody is physically there for you Again, you just received message from you don't know who telling you to not do something. ❌ The room is noisy and warm. One of the guest must complain before someone gives her the remote for the AC. ❌ Location: Far from everything (Japão, new downtown, old downtown, Ibirapuera park, etc.) ❌If you don't speak Portuguese, use Google translate because they don't speak other languages.

The closest metro is a 15/20mn walk, I took the bus a lot but it can make your transport time quite lengthy if you visit a lot of things in a huge city like SP. The main negative point for me is that not one person in the hostel ever made an effort to speak anything else than Portuguese (besides me and another guy, all were Brazilian). I speak 4 languages including Spanish and English so it's not like I'm not offering options and I am also beginner-learning Portuguese so I am more than ready to make efforts, but it just felt like people weren't even trying and that unfortunately include the owners of the hostel as well which communicated on whatsapp in Portuguese the whole time. Didn't really receive a proper check-in, one of the other clients helped me with my bag and explained a few things in Portuguese but that was it. In general people were nice and friendly, there was no real bad vibe but the utter lack of efforts really bummed me especially as it is the first time I'm experiencing such a vibe in a hostel, which is supposedly specifically designed to mix cultures and languages.
The hostel is quite new, it has opened in June. There is a small patio and terrace, the kitchen has all the necessary amenities, the beds are comfy (dorm beds have curtains and individual shelf and light) and the whole place is kept very clean.
