    Location and breakfast.

Me and my friend paid for the King double (“best” room in the hostel). Anyway, from the very 1st night we found the AC broken (then fixed) and then, most importantly, enormous cockroaches coming from the bathroom facilities, that show an important lack of cleanliness. When we reported to the receptionist that we were keeping finding them (including a frog…), despite a first cleaning intervention, and that we were expecting a new cleaning / at least refund (even partial) for the inconvenience, we were told that a new cleaning would have been considered “extra” and be charged + that we should have gone to a “resort” instead. It’s quite unacceptable that a hostel staff is not able to understand such a big issue with two people paying for a “King room” but having to live with huge cockroaches. I’d like to add that the insect net around the bed had holes and so was totally useless.

The hostel have very good vibes in it. Enjoyed every second. The crew there was so special and helped me with so many things. If you are a kitesurfer it gets even better because the owner have a kite school and then you can catch a ride with him to the spots. Also serving acai when coming with him. The best place.

This place is a SCAM ! Don't book, they are thieves!. Rooms don't look anything like the photos, my room was totally moldy, stained, the matress was humide like it was in a cave, there was black mold on walls, the toilet smelled like strong piss odor, the AC wasn't working but THE WORST PART WAS THE VERY HEAVY SMELL OF MOLD, I didnt even want to stay one night in this place, the paint was all the be redone, the light switch full of black fingerprints. I have been in so many places, I don't have high expectations, I can be content with minimal comfort but this was really bad. They offered to change me to another room the day after. The receptionist showed me another room without AC but it was taken and smelled like a barn. Then I meet other people who were there and had the same issue. The guys girlfriend was allergique and they got changed to a better room but was still bad. Some people I meet were living there as well and one of them had allergique reaction in another room. They have a no refund policy but the product they offer is complete garbage and has nothing to do with the reality. I had booked a week and they kept every penny. They are just bad dishonest people. Please don't encourage these thives. For the same exact price I had a room at VIGLAMO cliser to the beach with a pool and everything was super clean and staff were amazing. Contact them directly they have much better price than what is on booking.

Absolutely nothing l. This is a scam. Worst experience in 1.5 year in south america. Its a complete siht hole

    Property response:

We are truly sorry that your experience was not positive, but we would like to clarify a few important points: You did not spend even one night at our hostel. From the moment you arrived, your attitude was quite arrogant, and you refused all the room change options we offered — something we provided in good faith, even though it's not an obligation, but rather an extra effort to ensure guest satisfaction. We are a serious and honest hostel, committed to offering fair and affordable accommodations. We strive to keep our private room rates at just R$92 per night (for two people, with air conditioning and breakfast included) — a very competitive price in Jericoacoara, where operating costs are high. Naturally, at this price point, we cannot offer luxury hotel standards, but we do provide functional, clean, and accessible accommodation for budget-conscious travelers. The room and all contracted services were fully available to you, exactly as stated in your reservation. Even after we offered several alternative room options, you chose not to stay, which we respect, though we disagree with the way this has been portrayed publicly. Unfortunately, a refund was not possible, as private rooms are automatically blocked for two guests once booked, meaning we lose the ability to rebook that room. Last-minute cancellations like this result in a direct financial loss for us. Given all this, we find it extremely unfair — and frankly offensive — to be called "thieves" or "dishonest", when we honored our part of the agreement and kept the room and services ready for your use. We operate every day with honesty, transparency, and respect toward all our guests. Sincerely,

the receptionist wanted to pick me up, stalked me in my dream, maybe sniffed my clothes when i was away...after i refused she changed to bossy, came up with non existing "house rules" and threatened to drop me out of the hostel in the middle of the night despite of my reservation. Refused to call her boss or the cuatomer service too...weird experience. stay away

Extremely Disrespectful and Unprofessional Experience at LaTaperajeri hostel I have never left an accommodation feeling as disrespected and hurt as I did after my experience with the owner of this hostel, Mauricio. I usually only write positive reviews and forget about the bad ones, but this time, it was beyond unacceptable. I arrived at the hostel at 7:30 AM after a very tough 24-hour journey, looking for a place to rest. After checking a few other places, I finally arrived at this hostel and asked the receptionist if I could check in immediately. He assured me that I could. I then proceeded to book my stay through Booking.com and requested my room. To my surprise, I ended up standing at the reception for an hour and a half, waiting for my room, because the receptionist had no idea what to do. The computer system was barely functioning, and the overall logistics of the place were completely disorganized. After a long wait and after I had already paid and completed my booking, it was already 9:30 AM. At that point, another employee arrived and told me that early check-in was not usually possible and that it was against the hostel’s policy. However, after realizing that I was promised immediate entry by the receptionist, she assured me that she would take care of it and called the owner, Mauricio. From the moment Mauricio arrived, the entire atmosphere turned hostile and disrespectful. Before we even spoke, he realized I was Israeli and started mocking me in Hebrew. At first, I thought he was just joking. Then, he told me very clearly that I was not allowed to enter the hostel before 2:00 PM and that I should stay away until then. I explained to him that I only booked this hostel because the receptionist confirmed I could check in early and that I was utterly exhausted after traveling for an entire day. I told him that if there was no option to check in, I would like a refund so I could find another place to sleep.

    Property response:

I usually don’t respond to comments, but this one deserves a reply due to the number of lies and, more importantly, because this man is scamming hostels. He books a reservation for the following day but tries to check in the night before. If we don’t allow him to stay for free, he starts yelling and threatening to leave negative reviews until people give in. Even when we ask him to cancel his reservation, he refuses. In short, he is acting in bad faith and does not resemble traditional Israeli travelers. It is very unfortunate that a few exceptions like this can damage the good relationship between locals and visitors. Clarifying the facts: 1️⃣ I do not speak Hebrew Unfortunately, I don’t speak Hebrew, although I would love for this man to be right and for me to know this beautiful language. That said, it is clearly a lie when he claims that we spoke in Hebrew. Our entire conversation was in English. 2️⃣ He arrived at 6 AM with a check-in time at 2 PM Everywhere in the world, check-in times are set for a reason. He claimed that a staff member had allowed him into his room early, which is a lie because the person in question, who wasn’t even a receptionist (as reception opens at 8 AM), does not speak English. Since he started getting aggressive with this staff member, I was called in to speak with him in English. I explained that the room was not yet ready and that it could be available around noon. However, he became very agitated, possibly due to exhaustion. Despite this, I offered him the common area to rest and a bathroom to use until check-in time, but he refused. When he realized we wouldn’t give in, he started insulting me and demanded that I cancel his reservation. I agreed and told him I would refund his money, but he refused. Why? Because the private room with breakfast was only $10 per night, an unbeatable price. 3️⃣ The most important point If the place was as bad as he claims, why did he book another reservation the next day? That’s a good question to ask. It is sad to encounter travelers like this. I hope the experiences he has along the way will teach him something about life. Thank you all.

When I got to the room, I immediately noticed that my sheets were full of strangers' hair and dirt as if they had never been changed. On top of that, the floor and shower were also full of hair. There were bugs everywhere. The highlight was when I had a frog in the room and when I asked to move I was told that "frogs are a natural thing" and they refused to move me to a different room or give me a refund for the night I didn't sleep in the hostel.

Kitchen could be better equipped, no hammocks, cold shower, receptionists didn't know that there's actually direct bus from Jijoca to Barreirinhas
