How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The check-in process was fully digital and surprisingly easy, with clear instructions and 24/7 support through WhatsApp. The rooms are spotless, modern, and super cozy, with great air conditioning and comfortable beds. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like a shared kitchen, laundry area, coworking space, and even a filtered water dispenser in the hallway! Verified reviewCheck in is quite hard. All digital by WhatsApp. It’s not really efficient because you have to keep choosing the same option multiple times and sometimes it just say your time is up and you have ro start again.

Verified reviewI booked a luxury triple room with an ocean view and a balcony; however, I received a small room without a balcony and with a wall view. This was far from what was shown in the photos, and the room did not offer any view at all. They charged me for the luxury triple room but provided me with a standard room without issuing a refund. Additionally, the check-in process was terrible. The only available option for assistance was a bot on WhatsApp, which was only in Portuguese, making it very difficult for those who aren’t fluent in the language. On the day of check-in, they didn’t send me the access codes until 6 PM, causing a great deal of stress as I struggled to find a way to contact them. Furthermore, there was no safebox in the room, and the door handle was broken, which made me feel unsafe.

Verified reviewNothing really. My cousin was staying there so I booked a room for me, my husband and my daughter to stay one night on our last day of holidays before flying back home.
There is no staff whatsoever, so if there is any issue it is a text message service (although they answer promptly). The room I booked was not the same as the picture shown on Bookings. It was supposed to be a double bed and a single bed. We got there and it was a king single, not big enough for 2 people and a mattress on the floor. The room smelled like dog, we were horrified and ready to move to a different hotel when the text msg cust service gave us a code of a better room (proper double bed and a mattress on the floor). The hotel rents its rooftop space to a cocktail bar that plays loud music well into the night. We couldn't sleep even though we were exhausted. It was torture for my 5y old girl. We complained and there was nothing they could do apparently. So I found rhe number of the cocktail bar and begged for them to lower the volume and stop dragging chairs as we were directly underneath. If party is yoir reason to be there, go for it. We will never be back, that's for sure.

Verified reviewThe check-in was a bit confusing and stressful. (I was afraid of being charged twice since you have to pay through another platform them booking). The room was spacious and nice, it just missed some more places to store your stuff in the room (I left it inside the suitcase and it is ok too) and in the Bathroom (it was no place at all there for storage). The location is Amazing! Close to the beach (although to swim we had to walk a bit since they are under construction right there) but still very Nice. Also very close to many good restaurants!! The windows are not soundproof so, you can hear everything that is going around, I would say a bit noisy, but in an ok way! Overall, I would stay there again.
The check-in was a bit confusing and stressful. Especially for not having a Brazilian Phone number...YOU have to remember to do 2 days before your stay so you get the codes at the right time and day. They asked for payment through another platform that is not booking (which is annoying since you have to fill in the information for payments many times. I was afraid of being charged twice as well and if it was trustful). Regarding the shower in the bathroom, it "pointed" the water way too close to the wall, and I missed places to put our stuff. Missed cabinets and support, in the bathroom and the bedroom. There is a rooftop in the building and you can hear the music in the bedroom at night, but it was ok to sleep with.
