No lock on main room door, definitely needs curtains on beds , no bed light for reading or a bit off privacy. Lights in landing area need to be dimmed at night as guest who enter late evening the room lights up like an airport runway.

Great location 3 minute walk to beach. Supermarket within 200 yards. Hostel is very clean, beds are comfortable. Great chilling area to talk to fellow backpackers.

Extremely friendly staff! Great strong coffee! Beautiful common area with great music! Very clean! Kitchen has everything you need! I like that the bottom bed was high enough to sit comfortably. I would have definitely extended if they would not close down for general improvement (which again shows how much they care about giving the guest a great stay) :) loved it here!

Notice that there can be power cuts, which seem to be quite frequent on the island. There was no electricity for at least 6 hours during my stay, so I recommend taking that into account. The beds are a bit hard, as the mattresses are thin.

The hostel is quite big, having multiple dorms on the second floor. It has an outdoor area with roofs, and a kitchen, which were always available to sit, work, or chat with other guests, although not being overly spacious. There are power plugs available for every bed, as well as plenty of them in the communal areas. The receptionists (especially David) were so nice, and polite, always being available, and helpful. You can also book boat tours at the reception. The location is great, you reach the town center in 3 minutes and the nearest beach in 5 minutes. The kitchen, rooms, and communal areas have everything one needs. Towels are available for rent.

I enjoyed my stay despite the hostel was full when I stayed there. Specially the staff was very kind and it is very good value for money.

No individual lights for the beds, no mirror in the room, nowhere to put your water bottle/ book/ medicine if you are on the top bunker, all towels the same color (so they get mixed up in the room), not enough storage per person in the room, no hair dryer nor umbrella in the hostel to borrow. Plus I paid 50 reais more in a day tour then the rest of the people on my boat because I bought it in the hostel reception.

Only 3 little lockers to lock stuff in a 4 bedroom dorm.

The dorm room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. There was drinking water, and the bathrooms and dorm was very clean. The air conditioning worked great- it’s on from 8pm-8am. There was a couple of common areas and a little bar. It’s definitely a great hostel and I’d come back.

I loved everything about this hostel. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. I loved the kitchen and the way it was organised. It was very easy to make friends in this hostel, the leisure area made this really organic. The bathroom was also really clean and lovely.

The dorm beds could do with having curtains to close for a bit of privacy whilst sleeping.

Some parts are not finished, for example the roof of our bathroom is still under construction. And another thing is that being a boy the place, when the large groups go down to the living room they start screaming and wake up all the rooms below. My bed had a column almost above me, the cockpit bed is almost glued to the ceiling.

The best thing about the hostel is the place, staff, location and value for money.

Your Wifi could be more reliable, please. You should get a Wifi booster/extender/repetidor - just something! Or I´ll bring you one next time ;) Clean the Guest refrigerator for abandoned stuff at least once a week, guys! :)

Great location; the path/trek to Pico Papagaio starts literally 2 mins. walk from the hostal (go left, and sharp left onto the path parallel to the hostal -and off you go!). Or walk 1 minute from the hostal (left, right, left) and you´re on the beach and "downtown". Very, very nice and practical! Super "tranquilo" and secure atmosphere, day and night. The hostal itself: very friendly Staff, kitchen area ws nice and practical, as well as the laid-back "Lounge"-area. You will enjoy it here! :)

The mattresses were not the best but it was not a big issue. I really didn’t like the sinks as it is impossible to wash your face due to the design. It also would be good to have a laundry service but it seems that most hostels on the island do not provide this.

The staff here were among the kindest and friendliest I’ve encountered in any hostel. Perseu and Felipe were incredibly helpful with everything and always available when needed. I loved talking to them. Perseu gave me many tips and I appreciated all the time he spent explaining things to me. Vandinho and Deysil brought smiles and a warm presence, approaching their work with genuine dedication. The property was consistently spotless, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. I also loved the location and the overall vibe—it made for a truly enjoyable stay. I met many people and made lots of friends 🩵❤️🩵. I also loved the cats 🐱.

Wifi was a bit unreliable, water in shower would vary from lukewarm to hot, multiple cats on the property (well-behaved just not for me)

Some things to improve: air circulation in the rooms (when I got there it smelt of damp) and more comfortable beds.

Very good value for money, friendly staff, made new friends which is great as a solo traveller. The common area is spacious and has a TV and the staff play music at the bar as well.

The best hostel we've ever stayed at - super comfortable beds, very clean en suites & a fantastic kitchen area with a very welcomed toasty machine. Service was great too, with them being able to put the football on the tv for us and a really good bar, where the bartender was extremely attentive and would start making your second drink as soon as you finished the first. Will definitely come back if on the island.
