Our experience at Pousada Antígona was perfect. Their accommodation is even more picturesque than the photos, and the room was super comfortable. It’s in a great location - close enough to the old town while also feeling quieter and more relaxed. The breakfast was truly special - the best breakfasts we’ve had in Brazil so far! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful - despite us speaking no Portuguese , they were super helpful and patient when we started using our translator app. They helped us book onto a great boat tour and gave us recommendations for onward travel. Couldn’t recommend Antigona more highly.

Breakfast pans may need some lids. I saw lots of flies on the food. Wish the stuff could speak English, but it didn't cause much problem for me.

Loved our stay. The pousada is gorgeous. Spotless. Rooms were lovely. Very large bed which was very comfy. Rooms modern. Big smart tv in room. Staff so friendly and helpful. Big breakfast buffet in morning with lots of options. Outside area is really nice and pool is great. Location fantastic - just short walk across river and your in historic centre. Or less than 10 min to nearest beach. We were so pleasantly surprised with our stay and would highly recommend.

The gardening design can be improved with a more pictoresque features instead of plastic plant containers and planters made of material not matching with the whole of the rustic looking of the building-suggestion clay planters and containers and to have more plants around the swimming pool and main building area to soften the landscape.

A very simple and very clean setting with a special attention of Fabricio and the friendly people serving the breakfast. I higly reccomend for a reasonable price.

Nothing to dislike!

A great hotel with clean and spacious rooms, a nice communal space with a warm pool and seating areas. The pousade was close to the center of the town but away from the busy areas so there’s no noise at night. Staff was very kind and helpful. We also loved the breakfast. Overall an amazing stay and one of our best hotels in Brazil.

Room 3 was a bit humid, clothes and towels didn’t dry, bedsheet felt also humid. Air conditioning was not working for hot air.

Wonderful hotel and amazing value. The room was huge and clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was great, the staff was kind and helpful. The location is perfect — easy walk into the historic town center. The center courtyard is a pleasant place to hangout. We also appreciated the dedicated parking area (with a gate that was closed at night) for our rental car. Would highly recommend!

Nothing really maybe a bit more variety at breakfast but overall great.
