Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilThe stairways to the rooms and the beach could be safer.
Parking was gated. One had to talk over the intercom to get through. Parking was covered by CCTV. The private beach was great. Araruama lagoon's revitalization project seems to be successful. The water is cleaner and saltier than 20 years ago. The bathroom was good. The view from the room was fantastic.

United KingdomUnfortunately the inn doesn’t live up to its potential and price range. Our room had a lot of bugs (flying insects and ants), though it is partly to be expected when surrounded by trees (though worth mentioning for people to know). The cleaning could be better as well, there were leaves and some dirt in our room when we checked in which makes me question whether it was hoovered properly. The room was not cleaned during our stay, which I can see from other reviews it is because of COVID but we could have been told that when we booked or checked in. Most staff didn’t speak English so communication was difficult and whilst the breakfast was fresh and plentiful, it was continental and the quality varied from day to day. The staff were also not very attentive when having breakfast or dinner as we had to seek them out every time. The room was well appointed but the bathroom was dated and no bottled water, coffee or tea was provided with the room (perhaps a European thing but considering that tap water is not drinkable it would have been good to receive it). The TV also didn’t seem to pick up channels and the sky box provided required paying for membership to watch the channels. Overall so much potential for such a beautiful place but for the price in the area I expected more. Nonetheless most of the above can be fixed and I hope they do because it could go from good to excellent very easily.
What a beautiful place. The pousada is absolutely stunning outside and quite a unique place. We also ate dinner on our last night and the dishes whilst a bit expensive for the area and Brazil (cheap by European standards) they were of really good quality. We were positively impressed with the taste of the food and the portions. Some people have provided bad reviews of the food but I disagree. Perhaps they’ve changed the chef since then. The bed was very comfortable, the view was beautiful and the aircon worked really well (we stayed in room 9). The private beach and pier was a bonus. Checkout at 12pm as well which is great and internet was fast and covered the whole property. Location is away from everything but that’s part of its charm - we managed to move around with Ubers easily.

FranceThey are very disorganized. Our reserved and paid-for desired room was not available but listed. They did multiple charges because of math mistakes. Various products were missing from the menu items, and they were very price for low quality. Be aware of the fee charged because they differ on the bill, site, and printed menu. The hotel is very isolated, and the options for dining in are limited and expensive, and you have to order in advance. Also, because they are located in front of a lake (not the sea), be prepared to be eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Beautiful decoration and comfy environment. The proximity to the lake creates beautiful scenery.
