Mara was super attentive and we received all the important information before our stay.

Probably it would be better to get the information about the island ( carring a backpack, snorkeling gear, flashlike) 1 month in advance, in order to be able to pack accordingly

Views from the balcony into the bay were magical. Staff was extremely helpful in organising excursions and booking transport to/from mainland. Breakfast was great every morning. The nature at Pousada Lagamar is stunning, would recommend paying extra for water view rooms, it make us feel like we are sleeping in a tree house. Plenty (aka 3) of food options on the beach, which was surprising considering it felt like it was a desert island just for us (in the most magical way).

Not a criticism but info: Bear in mind the Pousada is in the middle of the forest, good 10 min walk away uphill from the jetty on the beach. They will organise someone to help you with bags, make sure you have cash to help them. Wear comfy shoes as it's uphill in limited light.

Very peaceful, green and quiet. Close to the beach if you want to get a boat somewhere. You can also just walk the trail to visit other beaches and spots nearby.

The hot water in the shower was intermittent.

The location is very secluded and peaceful! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room didn't look like the one from the pictures, that we thought we had booked. We thought the room we paid for was overpriced. We had previously stayed elsewhere on the island for 60% of the price and the room and breakfast were nicer. It was a shame because it was the stop I was most looking forward to! Breakfast at Pousada Lagamar was OK, but the fruit should be covered, if possible, as they had lots of flies on which put us off. Also to future guests, you should be prepared for limited options for dinner and at a higher cost.

Pousada Lagamar had extremely friendly and hospitable staff. They organized tours, water taxis and provided great advice on how to spend our time on the island. The surrounding beach and nature was beautiful and we greatly appreciated the more remote nature of the place as it was further from the main town. It was the perfect place to both relax, explore and embrace the beautiful Brazilian landscape.

Booked this Pousada because of it’s idyllic location and so called hospitality. However practically our whole stay we could not have breakfast in our stay. We had to walk for 10 min through the jungle to another cheaper Pousada with no idyllic view at all. Only the last morning of check out, breakfast was served in our hotel. Seeing what we could have had in the past days was so frustrating. We asked several times for help with planning our tours / hikes but they were very short in replies probably due to the language barrier. However google translate can help you a long way right…?! The lack of effort to help us out, frustrated us the most because we were really in a remote location, dependent on the Pousada to make the best of our days.

The Pousada said no tours were supposed to go out due to bad weather. So we made something of our day ourselves and started hiking to another bay and see where we got. There we stayed for the rest of the day and around 5pm we saw the tour boats coming back from the day. This felt really bitter because we wanted to do that as well. Where there’s a will there’s a way they say. In our Pousada there was no will to help us making our holiday the best! On top of that, 2/3 days we had no electricity due to a storm. However all the other Pousada’s in the bay were back on power after 1 night. Ours not. My husband slipped walking on the path to our room because there was no light. We didn’t sleep well for 2 nights because our room was above 35C. No power to charge something. To make up for the power outage they didn’t charge our consumption during our stay. At that point I think they realized we were so disappointed. But damage was done and the reason why we came to ilha grande and Lagamar could not have given back.

everything was perfect, we loved our stay. Isabel is very welcoming and takes great care of everything. the location is beautiful. breakfast was tasty.

The PEOPLE, staff there is amazing. Tjeu just want you to have a good time and relax. Extremely good people and very knowledgable about the island, what to do and always trying to help and assist any way possible.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place. It, to me is the most amazing place to go visit and stay at.

Ezequiel, the manager, is such a nice and interesting guy. The whole staff were amazing! Breakfast in front of the ocean, C mon! If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the spot.

Maybe the drinks at the bar, except when Tomas prepared them.

The location is fantastic and the staff are wonderful

Our first room was really small, there was no hot water and the water dribbled out. The property suffers from the remote location and jungle. The bed was tiny, meaning my husband and I struggled to sleep together.

Location and breakfast were perfect with beautiful views and close proximity to the beach with bars and restaurants and the boat departs from there too!

It was perfect for a quiet relaxing few days

Hidden in the jungle with beautiful views over the sea. Great value, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, we ended up staying twice as long as we had originally booked for!
