Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Left my suitcases in the stairway for a few minutes, when we came back we discovered the hotel guys took them, they demanded that we pay a fine, afterwards i texted the hotel about something I couldn’t find and asking maybe the cleaner found it, they didn’t bother answering for more than a week…
For rio the price was good and the staff was very nice when we were where guests.

Good, clean hotel in Botafogo. It´s a few minutes down to the beach, there is a nice pool area and quite a few restaurants just next to it. Perfect for me on a stopover

Food taken right from my face at 10.02 . Yes I was aware breakfast is served until 10 am still its first time it was literally taken in 5 min . I felt I have to hurry seeing staff cleaning the place while we tried to finish breakfast. Also very narrow space in room that we could not open bag . We had to open by placing it on bed. Something as well first time seen - fee for bags left after check out. Check out at 12 was nice surprise. .

Our booking mentioned breakfast takeaway containers available and there were some misunderstanding.. but at the end we didn't ended up taking that option as it's a little bit problematic.
Location is nearby to shops and restaurants, security and staff available for all hours, and when they found the leak that can't be fixed we are moved to another room right away. Good breakfast selections and dinner (but we didn't go for the dinner at the hotels restaurant)

Eggs were runny
The room was basic but very nice. The location was super nice. It was within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, etc. the breakfast was OK if you like a lot of bread and cheese they also had various juices and assorted fruits. It was like a continental breakfast of bread and cheese and fruit. However, not even a quarter of a block away there’s a restaurant on the corner that has a buffet which was really nice and a great price.

Wifi was ridiculous. 5mbps. On a good day it was 8. That is unacceptable. I would actually tell people to avoid this place just because of the wifi

In no way soundproofed windows so that every single outdoor sound is hearable. Especially during the night from noisy bar located in front of the hotel. Earplugs needed during the night

We had a minor issue in that our room was not cleaned until late.
Great location for us as close to our sons place. Clean with a good breakfast.

Location.. Catete is not the best part of town.. but by no means the worst. There was no bar, drinks were only available in the restaurant.

No bar to drink and socialise. No atmosphere. More a business persons accommodation to sleep and work. Area too far from lively Copacabana. Nobody spoke English.
Very clean throughout. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff professional. Rooms cleaned daily to a high standard. Chambermaid was so friendly and did a great job. Near the metro- largo de Machado.

Wiring is outdated and difficult to use plugs. Hotel is more 3 than 4 star but we had a lovely time.
