Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The pillows are very very thin
Location is perfect, safe central close to bars. Place is clean and comfortable beds. The stuff is nice (except the girl at the frontdesk) The garden is beautiful and nice to relax

Only 1 socket in every room to charge phone. The bathroom could be better.

The mattresses aren’t really mattresses, they’re hard foam with paper-thin sheets. The structure of the bunk beds is really fragile, It felt as if almost every screw there was loose, and every time I BREATHED the bed moved. They also have a bar across the street where they play music really loud until really late, so bring earplugs! It’s also very luminous so I’d recommend a sleeping mask.
Definitely the best thing is the location, it was perfect, walking distance from the main tourist points. The staff was really attentive and extremely helpful and accommodating. The hammocks on the common space are really great, and they have a guitar and a pool table.

Staff is nice. Unfortunately very low value for money. They charge extra money for a blanket! The bed is really uncomfortable- you can feel the planks through the mattress...

The staff was not friendly, especially the women. After three days a female staff member came, I didn't pay for everything even though I did. Very unfriendly and after resolution there was no apology either. So there chaos, i paid 50% credit and 50%chash, was my fault. There is no greeting, nothing. I never got a smile. That this is possible in Brazil? Credit card fee is 10%!!! Where else do you get that? You are not informed beforehand. I wanted to pay all cash the next day, i arrived really late, they didnt let me. The mattress is very thin and uncomfortable. The microwave was always very dirty. The staff are constantly in the kitchen or at the only table so that the guest has no place to sit. There was a board on my window so you couldn't close the window. I wanted to give away the handle and there were nails on the other side and I was bleeding.

I'm giving this hostel a negative rating due to the noise mainly. I've stayed in many hostels and this is by far the loudest. People literally playing pool right outside your room window until 1-2 am. I rarely slept between the noise and with how uncomfortable the beds were. I will add that there aren't many options for working spaces, plugging in a computer, etc. Most of the beds don't have plug-ins. There's maybe 1-2 desk spaces in the entire place. For a traveler/remote worker this is a horrible option to stay at.
I liked the area and had a lot of hope for this hostel. It has a lot of potential.

The room was very basic, there were sweat stains on the pillows and the bed was rock solid. The bathroom had not been cleaned and was really dirty and unpleasant, and there was no lock on a shared bathroom meaning my girlfriend did not feel comfortable showering. There is also a lot of noise from outside the property on the main road.
The hostel is in a good location.

The bunkbeds in the dorm I was were very light and when I tried to go on the top bed, the bed legs would lift so I got scared and couldn't go up. Luckily the dorm wasn't full and I was able to change to a bottom bed. Also, the showers are tiny and the hot water didn't work.
People at reception were friendly and helpful. The location is pretty convenient. It was clean and spacious. I met nice people there.
