How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Waterfron Inn- this river was 3-4 moths ago, during my stay only the grass
Breakfast was good, staff in this inn was very heplfull, but the best man was our driver to Goremi National Park.....MR RELAX thanks once more for our trip,,,,,,leopard, chetaah, elephants, zebras......this man is a Master

It was a bit expensive compared to others we have stayed at of a similar nature.
Power in the parking area was a massive bonus. A comfy bed and very clean. Entrepreneurial spirit of the business.

Lovely hotel at the river bank, we stayed one night and the hotel suited us very well, friendly staff, great breakfast, very much recommended!

Car Park area not fully secured, breakfast very basic and some of the staff seemed to see us as an annoyance rather than guests.
Away from the centre of town, large comfortable room. Be aware that if you have a preference for a shower, you will need to specifically request it.

An option of some gluten free bread would have been good - even if it was frozen and could be taken out piece by piece for breakfast.
Loved the honesty bar - just take it from the fridge and write it down in the book - charged at the end of our stay. Such a great idea. The breakfast was great - a good variety of things - different breads, cakes, cheeses, cold meats, condiments. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable and clean. We arrived with an extra person, and they were so accommodating in getting her a room. Enjoyed having a taxi driver who was linked with the lodge - trustworthy and very reliable. Outdoor fire place was great!

The only thing that was a bit of an issue was the WiFi. I specifically booked the place because it was advertised as having WiFi in the rooms, and I had online work that needed to be done. Once again, the staff member did everything in his power to try and get the WiFi working for me, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be fixed. I eventually accepted that I wouldn’t be able to get any work done.
Our overnight stay at Maun Waterfront on our way back from holiday was definitely a great choice. The rooms are modern and spacious, as is the bathroom. The rooms have king-size beds with high-quality mattresses that provided a good night’s rest. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, and the gentleman on duty was very friendly. There was a good variety of breakfast options, including different types of freshly baked bread. We would definitely choose this place again when visiting Botswana.

The buildings had a very damp smell, reception and bar / dining area needs some refurbishment. Rooms could have been cleaner and the patio furniture was very dusty. We were expecting nicer facilities for the price.
The rooms were large, and bathrooms newly renovated. Breakfast was good and the manager gave us a recommendation for a great restaurant for dinner.

When we arrived, we found out that the place was overbooked so we ended up having to all squeeze in one room and not in two rooms.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the patio is very cute, breakfast is delicious.

It would be nice if there was a restaurant onsite overlooking the river. But there were a couple of nice places for lunch and dinner near the hotel so this was not a big issue.
The breakfast was good with nice homemade bread. The hotel was off the main road so it was very quiet. We got a nice river view from the room.

The only draw back was the area does not have clean water due to the drought.

Need to take a taxi to town. However, taxi driver available on premise for transport and collecting take-out food orders.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and clean. Nice, large private balcony with view on the river ... water there even at the end of the dry season. Breakfast was good. Ray (the manager) is probably right that they have the best coffee machine in town. Laid back atmosphere but well organized. The area around the refreshing pool was lovely with a great variety of trees and bushes.
