How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was not quite clean, dishes still drying on the kitchen counter. Spider web in the shower.
Our rooms are cleaned daily and have a structured routine. We did not find any cobweb anywhere in the condo however I fairness to the guest we did found a string from a white towel new the bathroom window. The dishes on the rack were evidence of clean dishes but we will ensure that these are already set up on the shelf in the interest of guest finding their kitchen in perfect order. Verified reviewLocation and security was nice. Plumbing and the wifi was really good. I was able to work from there. Working AC which is a huge plus. The garden outside was very pretty. Had a great time here and the staff was very available for questions.
Maybe security codes on the apartment doors or some sort of return system for the keys. Wish there were bath mats in the bathroom to prevent falls.

A bit dated, dirty, and overstuffed with furniture.
really surprised with this feedback as they were very happy while their stay and even happier for the free ride downtown. Notheless I am grateful for the business. I strongly recommend that with limited budget it is best stay down town in the hustle and bustle of activity with cheap motels and hostels for every budget. Security, peacefulness and relaxation are the trademarks of our large modern and comfortable suites.

A bit run down - some maintenance required. Ie closet doors that don't open or close easily.

The place felt like someone was living in the apartment was a bit grubby.

Perhaps it’s is just something with Turkish culture that is not understood. As with most of north,Latin and Central America and most of Europe as we have not had any issues of the same with global visitors I guess less is more in some cultures. And I respect that . Verified reviewThe weather that day was nice.
We arrived and it was NOT what the pictures looked like. We got to our room and the door felt very unsafe. One could easily open the door with 90 lbs of force to the entry. Upon arriving the A/C wasn't working, the room seemed like it hasn't been occupied in months, same with the bathroom that seemed cold and not maintained over time. There is a door in the room that leads to a storage space that the other residents use to store things(through a seperate door), so you have to barricade that door in your room that leads to the common storage space. The balcony in the picture is actually not a balcony but a common space/walkway. The ocean view is very misleading since the ocean is far (all angle on the ocean view), water did NOT look clear or even blue and not to mention there is construction in-between so you can't even walk to the water if you wanted. Getting to the location was $30 from the airport and that price seemed to be the standard price to get back into town. So you will either blow $60 each day because of how far it is to the main area or you can walk along the highway -like we did- to the nearest car rental place to rent a car to look for another place to stay. You need to roll your 6-8 digit code on the lock mechanism on the building's main door to get into AND out of the building. We never even checked into the place or even sat down on the bed to test it, my girl didn't feel safe here at all and that would obviously not go well when trying to sleep in this house NOT hotel. It is a house with rooms where other families live. I thought I was going to wow my girlfriend but in the end we had to walk along the highway to rent a car and spend hours looking for a new hotel last minute. WhenI mentioned it to the host she said it was non-refundable -even though I didn't even check in.
It's sad that when people with limited budget visit and seek a free ride turn to false and misleading information. Belize city also has motels available in downtown who want to work on low budget to suit all budgets. Nothing is wrong if one cannot afford luxury and convenience. Nonetheless I wish him good luck in his endeavour and travels elsewhere.

The balcony was dirty and had empty beer bottles and other debris laying around.
Thanks for your visit. We were happy were were able to accommodate with a free early 3 hr plus prior check in. You said you were greatful and we believe you. March is a breezy month and some of the plants on your private balcony did let loose of some leaves that day and as for the bottle left on your balcony we have noted and our apologies for your inconvenience.

Verified reviewWell… when I reached Belize I called the hotel for directions and they told me that my reservation was cancelled by my bank due to suspicion of fraud. I was told that there was no vacancy.

we were called and advised that the nonrefundable rate book was being cancelled by the credit card holder. so the booking was cancelled thereafter on the day of the booking Will called to say he was coming but his booking was already cancelled per his request. Public transportation in Beliz is not the best, so have to rent a car or take a taxi.

Verified reviewIt has a beautiful view. Someone of the aesthetics are nice. The host offered us late check out which we did not need, but it was a kind offer.
Overall the place just isn’t very nice. It took running the shower over 10min to get hot water, there were exposed wires on the floor of the bathroom, numerous light switches don’t work, there were no blankets just a top sheet, and the room itself had no lock or security so anyone in the building could access it while you were away. Additionally, many of the pictures on Booking are not accurate. They show a breakfast that I’m assuming is from somewhere else in the city, not the hotel, and the hotel looks completely different.
I guess at times we do get scammers at the hotel who look for a free ride their credit card declined and we still allowed the MacCay's to stay but sadly they left before anyone came in the morning to charge for their booking. As a result we still have an unpaid bill which we have brought to the attention of booking as our associate partners whom charge commission for those who stay or don't stay. ,,,,,,life is real !

The property is in middle of no where. No staff stayed there and they had nothing around. Getting to any store I had to get taxi or walk in the main road for 1/2 hour. Also booking was showing $74 for one night but then they charge just $45 for cleaning and $7 for tax which tax is fin, but booking.com dose not tell you that when you book.
Karin was more in search for a motel like stay of which we are not. But the contrary as advertised a spacious comfortable clean and peaceful residential area. I'm sorry that this was not within his budget and above what he expected unlike motels. Downtown has various motels and hostels with low budget accommodations in the hustle and bustle in the alleys and corners. We recommend that a quick google search for hostels and motels would Suffice his need for another opportunity Good luck

Verified reviewThe location was not good. Too far from restaurants and too hard for taxis to find. I chose not to stay there cause it was to isolated. I had the additional cost of taxi trips to and from the restaurants. Not a good place to stay . I could not cancel so I got a hotel room close to resuarants.

I'm sorrry Mr. Micheal changed his mind about staying at a residential area and had a wanting for a downtown where there are also motels and suitable places for his preference. We have had many guest whom have appreciated the neighborhood, the large clean and comfortable room along with the good service and value for money. Since he had bought the most economical and non-refundable policy we could not reimburse him as he was also cancelling on the same day of the booking which would goes against the booking policies. There is great food delivery and great restaurants in Belize where guest would go and have a great experience. I trust his stay in the hustle and bustle of the city was of his expected experience.

Verified reviewI loved the view of the lagoon from my room as well as the cozy terrace. The owner provided me complimentary breakfast on my second day which was so appreciated. I had two bookings and I had to cut one short due to an unexpected death in my family that I found out about my second day in Belize. The owner was very accommodating during this difficult that. I appreciate her going above and beyond, as well as her assistant. Yay to women business owners in Belize!
The taxis had a hard time finding the place and it isn't walking distance to eateries but the owner gave helpful tips on where to eat and had several taxis that didn't overcharge.
