The family running it are very nice and passionate about where they live. They gave great advice on which activities to do and good knowledge of the area. The breakfast was also a highlight each morning x

We loved Sun Creek Lodge! This place is an absolute gem! It was beautiful and peaceful in a gorgeous jungle setting. We stayed in the Sunshine Cabana, which had an awesome outdoor shower and bathroom. The owners, Marisa and Thomas, are wonderful! It is clear that they love southern Belize and love sharing it with guests. Speaking with them was delightful, and the effort they put into the lodge is so apparent! Breakfast each morning was delicious and a great value! Cecelia and Consi, the lovely ladies working magic in the kitchen, were so kind and also a joy to chat with! There is a beautiful open air common air with an honor bar and beautiful views of the property. I can't say enough good things about Sun Creek Lodge! It was our favorite stay in Belize!

    Nothing! We loved it!

The location is beautiful! The owners are such kind and interesting people, who were fun to visit with. We stayed in the Hummingbird cabin, which we loved! It is rather large with a well-stocked kitchenette and a verandah looking out to the jungle. After our afternoon arrival we walked nearby to do a little birdwatching. The first morning we had a light rain until almost noon, but we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the verandah, reading and enjoying the beauty of the jungle in the rain. It was so relaxing! The afternoon was spent driving to the Guatemala border and soaking in the beauty of the countryside and the many Mayan houses with thatched roofs. The next morning I got up at 6 and walked to the bridge to take the trail where there are birds and howler monkeys. However, even though this ideas a beautiful day, due to constant recent rains, the trail was really muddy. After returning to Sun Creek Lodge, I walked further down their road and heard so many beautiful bird songs. It was a great stay, and the price is really great, too! The breakfasts and dinners were large and delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here if you love nature and don’t want too many people around!

I started by booking for one night and I have ended up staying here several more days. This is a truly wonderful place! It’s in the middle of the jungle yet also very centrally located near the main highway. The hosts are kind and extremely helpful, and there’s so much to do around here. Highly recommended!

This is a place for those who love nature and enjoy belize but want to get into a region that is less explored by tourists. The family and staff here are a treasure to spend time with and chat to, the surrounded places to visit are awesome

We understood from the booking that we would have a kitchen but that could've been our mistake

The owners were very helpful, and they helped me find out boat times and book the boat to Guatemala. There is a bus nearby that goes to Punta Gorda.

Wonderful stay at sun creek - we wanted something simple in the jungle and this place was better than expected. The whole garden was beautiful and the rooms great. Loved the outside bathroom! We were there in august and worried a little about the heat as there is no AC but with the standing fan it was just fine. I'd seen reviews talking about dog and traffic noise, but we weren't disturbed by anything and slept well. It's a hut in the jungle so yes there were some bugs but that's normal. We fell asleep watching a gecko scuttle across the ceiling eating mosquitos and moths, comfy under the mosquito net. The couple who run the hotel are lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Would come back if we're ever in the area again!

It’s so nice, in the middle of the jungle with small cabins to stay in! The cabins are quite luxurious for what we expected! The hosts were super nice and we talked a lot to them about why they moved to Guatemala. The breakfast was lovely! Also one of our favourites was the outdoor shower :). It was just amazing!

I loved the Sun Creek Lodge! It felt so nice to be in the jungle, but still feel safe. The owners of the lodge have truly created a little paradise down here. I would say this is one of the most memorable dorms I’ve stayed in so far. It was very easy to reach the lodge with the local bus line from Hopkins. If I do ever visit Belize again, this is the first place that would come to mind!

The situation and layout of the cabanas in the jungle ‘garden’, the helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff, owners and family; the food and general ambience of the wonderful place. The nighttime jungle trek was superb; plus the outside bathrooms are delightful.

The government road to the lodge really needs to be filled in - the poor owners are constantly asking and are doing what they can themselves.

I absolutely loved my stay here. It’s so peaceful and the jungle setting is gorgeous. The family who run it are all so kind and great at suggesting activities to do in the local area. I spent a lot of my time in the hammocks just enjoying the environment and listening to the jungle sounds. A very special part of my trip. Thank you ☺️

Family owned, in lush green rainforest like setting, four individual cabins, alas only really cold outdoor shower, wifi not in all cabins, luckily I had the cabin to myself, first night the only guest

Mattress too soft and sagging, clothes either damp or wet even those in backpack, stuck without a car, as there are no busses evenings

Fantastic accommodation in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful surroundings, great hosts and excellent complementary services. Possibility to have half day/whole day/tailor made trip with guide. Breakfast and Dinner were excellent.

If insects etc. bother you, this is not the place for you. It is necessary to think that the location is "in the middle of the jungle". On the contrary, we enjoyed this place in the beautiful nature.

For a jungle lodge this place is very well taken care of. Marisa and Thomas were amazing hosts and really helped me figure a great couple days. The location is easy to get to via bus and the facilities were nice and clean. As a solo traveler there were options for me in a shared cabin, but there are options for really any type of traveler and even family. The nature is amazing in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend.

    Bring your bug spray!

The location was ideal for visiting all the nearby Mayan sites, caves, waterfalls and hiking trails. The facility was very well maintained and having morning breakfast was very convenient and the option of having a dinner offered was great. Thomas the owner and his family did an amazing job of providing for all my needs to the things I wanted to see and visit.

For a jungle experience there was not a thing that I disliked about my stay.
