Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaAs noted by others, there is a strong odour in the bathroom that some might be bothered by. The floor was also not very clean, but I understand that given that the town has no paved roads so there is sand everywhere.
Reasonable value at around 60$/night. Perhaps even better value if there's two of you, but then the room (and bed) would perhaps be a bit on the small side. Note that there is a window in the bathroom, so you are not completely in the dark. This was an unexpected plus. Location very convenient and staff very pleasant. Very practical to have the little supermarket downstairs. Shower was large and worked very well.

BelizeNo elevator, and I was on the 4th (top) floor. The worst was the odor from the toilet area. It smelled like sewer gas was coming in. From looking at reviews, this has been going on for a long time. At least there was a door that could be kept shut between the bedroom and rest room.
Beautiful location with lovely area on roof with shade, hammocks, and spectacular view of the water and Main Street.

NetherlandsThere was a leak in another guest's room which flooded the hallway and our room too, including our bags and clothes, etc. The staff was very apologetic and helped us clean it up, but nothing more. Ofcourse the leak was outside of their hands but I think it would've been nice if they offered us to move rooms since everything was wet and smelly and we still had to sleep there a few days.
We arrived without any booking beforehand on the island (dumb) and this was the cheapest option left. It's a simple, clean hotel with a nice bed and shower. Not a place to hang out during the day, just to sleep.

United KingdomThe bathroom had a foul smell at all times
It was one of the more budget options on the island and is well located. Check in is via the supermarket beneath, so no hotel reception or amenities etc. The cleaning staff were friendly and the rooms were clean generally but basic.

CanadaBathroom had a strong sewage smell - we covered the drain with a garbage can and kept the door closed and that helped but it’s good to note - there’s also a shared kitchen area upstairs which was awesome but we ended up not usuing it as there was a lot of pigeon poop surrounding the area and it felt like not a great place to cook food - we also didn’t mind the stairs but it’s good to note we had a solid set up stairs to get up to floor 4 !
We knew we had booked a budget friendly hotel so we weren’t expecting much - we chose it for its location which was wonderful , and ended up loving the shower !!! (Better than my shower at home ) and the bed was extremely comfy !!

BelgiumThere was a lot of shouting at night in the hallway (I slept there a thursday night)
Friendly staff. Very good bed. It said no window, but I could open one in the adjoining bathroom. Because there isn’t a window, you can make it pitch dark for a good night’s sleep. There is a tv with all possible streaming channels. FYI Check-in is in the store

United StatesMy room was not serviced during the stay. I think it would have been if I had asked though. There are lots of stairs to get to the rooms, and no elevator, which was not a problem for me but may be a problem for people with accessibility issues. One issue, which is sort of a personal thing, is that I am allergic to their polyester sheets so I had to use my own sheets. Would be a 10/10 if they had cotton sheets.
The best location for remote work on the island. Beds were comfortable and AC was good. The wifi was good enough for me to take Zoom calls, there was a nice desk in my room, and I was able to set up a little office under the pavilion on the roof. The location was absolutely perfect. It was central but not noisy at night- half a block from Enjoy Lounge, my favorite bar on the island, and a block from Stingray Beach, which is the best place to see stingrays and watch the sunset. The best breakfast spot on the island is right there as well. The view from the roof is unreal, and everyone at the hotel was very nice. Really ideal experience. If I come back I will definitely be staying here!
