Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt's a little far from town, so you have to make plans for transportation. BUT, that's also a reason to book here. It's NOT part of the hustle and bustle. If you want something that feels more secluded that way, this is the place.
This place exceeded all out expectations. The food was fantastic, service impeccable, room comfortable and well-appointed, pool pristine, etc, etc. The hotel, itself, is ALL that AND a bag of chips, as they say. :)

GermanyNothing, everything was just perfect!! We had to switch rooms during our stay but they tried to make it as comfortable as possible for us.
Absolutely the best boutique hotel we stayed at in Belize! Everything at Kalimera Beach is so thoughtfully designed — from the moment we arrived, we felt more like family than guests. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and their attention to detail makes the stay unforgettable. You get ice for your drinks or to make a refreshing iced coffee (which became our daily ritual). There’s a water tap in front of each room to rinse the sand off your feet before going inside — a small but brilliant touch. The rooms and common areas were spotless, and you can tell a lot of love and care goes into everything here. There are hammocks, a beach gym, paddleboards, kayaks, and games — it’s literally impossible to get bored. The absolute highlight? Sipping an iced coffee while relaxing in a hammock right by the beach, watching the waves roll in. Sometimes you even get a fresh coconut! They also organized an incredible tour for us to Laughing Bird Caye — it was breathtaking, and we even saw a shark! We truly loved every second of our stay. Kalimera Beach is a place you arrive as a guest and leave feeling like part of the family. Can’t recommend it enough!

United StatesUnfortunately the beach bar was closed during our stay. But this wasn’t a huge biggie because luckily the ladies in the kitchen were still making drinks upon request!
Kalimera is such a beautiful property with so much attention to detail. It is only a small hotel but this only added to its charm - it’s peaceful, intimate, and so relaxing. But the real standout here is the staff! The awesome maintenance staff supported us when my boyfriend was adamant to kayak out to the deserted caye a mile off the hotel’s shore. They gave us life jackets, snorkels, and water bottles for the expedition. And of course the incredible ladies in the kitchen, Gloria and Aracely. Not only did they make an AMAZING breakfast, they showed us how to harvest the right coconut for fresh coconut water, taught us how to make fryjacks, gave me birthday pancakes (not requested!), and even made sure we had a burrito for the drive back to the airport on our last day.

United StatesThis was our favorite place to stay ever, and we travel quite a bit. The entire staff was phenomenal from the moment we set foot on the property. The breakfast was amazing and was actually our best meal of the day most days we were there. I can't recommend Kalimera highly enough.

United StatesI cannot say enough wonderful things about this beautiful and thoughtfully designed boutique hotel or the incredibly kind and helpful staff. This stop was the highlight of our trip to Belize and we have the Kalimera to thank for it. They went above and beyond helping us coordinate excursions and even made all the arrangements for us, some before we even left the states! And when our boat trip to the Blue Hole was canceled because of weather, they found a way to get us there by plane. I never would have been able to do it on my own. And I can’t forget about the breakfast and lunches, absolutely delicious, my husband was a HUGE fan of the warm homemade salsa. Our deepest gratitude to everyone there for making our family vacation our best yet!!

United StatesOne suggestion, which I shared while staying there, was to please include a small refrigerator in the room in the future.
My 5 night stay at Kalimera was wonderful. The rooms are nicely designed, thoughtfully laid out and have a very comfortable bed. It is not a large resort with many buildings but rather a smaller boutique hotel. My favorite energy. The grounds and the rooms are immaculate. I had a view of the sea and enjoyed opening the door in the morning and taking in the sounds and beauty. Breakfast was healthy and so very delicious. Everyone, I mean everyone, who is part of the property ownership and staff were wonderful. I would recommend staying here!

United StatesLoved everything. I just wished they even offered dinner because the food was so good 🥰
We had such a wonderful stay with Kristy, Victor, and their amazing team. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcome and at home. They helped us organize tours and even arranged a driver for our airport transfer, which made everything super smooth. The food was incredible—breakfast, lunch, and the afternoon snacks were all delicious and clearly made with care. The hotel has been recently renovated and it shows: everything felt fresh, clean, and beautifully designed. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. A special highlight for our family was seeing our daughter become fast friends with Atlas, the owners’ child—it really made the experience even more memorable. On our last day, Kristy even surprised her with a little gift basket, which was such a sweet touch. 🥲🥹 Thank you for making our stay so special—we’re already thinking about our next visit!

I had an amazing stay at Kalimera. This boutique hotel was everything I was looking for; peaceful, beachfront, modern infused with tasteful local elements. The staff were super friendly and they all went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout my stay. I appreciated Jessica’s prompt helpful communication before my arrival, and lovely Ella’s excellent hospitality. As a solo female traveler I completely felt safe and relaxed. Every night I went to sleep with the sound of the waves and every morning woke up to birds singing and the super delicious breakfast made by Gloria and the other lovely ladies in the charming kitchen. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Christine and Viktor and their adorable son. Overall, excellent experience!

United StatesWe had a fantastic time at Kalimera Beach Hotel. It is owned and run by a young family who have put a lot of love, effort and attention to detail into doing a total renovation of the hotel when they took it over just a few months ago, and the result is amazing. The hotel has a personal feel to it. The owners are very pleasant and hang out to chat with guests during breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they helped us organize activities and recommended local Belize tour companies. The rooms are steps away from the sea, you can hear the sounds of the waves while you sleep at night. If you can, try to book the King Suite with Seaview (Unit 1), it is closest to the water and has an amazing patio and views of the sea. We would definitely stay there again. Good luck to the owners - they have a beautiful family and are doing an amazing job making their guests happy.

I’m not sure where to start. This is as close to perfection as you can get. Having traveled all over the world and experienced so many different types of lodging, this a little slice of magic. The owners are so kind and it’s clear they put so much love and thought into every aspect and design element of this small hotel. The food is delicious and the staff kind the pool is brilliant and the beach access and all of the amenities like lounge chairs and coffee and juice and water and an ice bucket to keep ice frozen is just truly amazing. The rooms are immaculate, beautiful stone shower with hot water and a little wooden box with things you might have forgotten. WiFi was lightening fast.

United StatesThe location was a bit far from town and we didn't have a car so that limited our dining options unless we wanted to take a very expensive cab ride to town. The breakfast, however, was good and plentiful and there were a few restaurants within easy walking distance. There really isn't a "sidewalk" to walk far along the road safely.
Friendly staff, beautiful facilities, upgraded us for free to the beachside cabana. Really enjoyed our short stay at this beautiful, family-owned boutique hotel.

SpainThey don’t serve lunch or dinner, which would’ve been nice, but they had great recommendations for restaurants within walking distance that were all worth a try. The bar also has some really tasty snacks to keep you going, so it didn’t end up being much of an issue.
loved my stay at Kalimera! The beachfront location is stunning, and waking up to those ocean views from my room was super nice. The room itself was beautiful and clean. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious (don’t miss the Belizean breakfast!). I also loved that they have paddleboards and kayaks available—it made it easy to get out on the water and explore at sunrise when the water is so flat it looks like a mirror
