    Location was great, very close to city center, and quiet, at end of street

    The apartment had two rooms separated by a small door. Each room had a split air conditioner. Unfortunately, the unit in bedroom was not functioning. It was extremely hot that weekend and sleep was almost impossible. I called several times and at first the man handling the keys said he would do something about it, but then he turned his phone off so he could not be contacted. I went to neighbor and rented a stand fan to put by bed. No attempt was made even to refund the rental fee, let alone refund any part of the unit fee, which was very high. Also, I paid extra for the pool use. The pool was dirty and cloudy. You couldn't even see your feet as you stood in it. We were afraid to use the pool because we were not sure if it was safe or not.

I found the following: On the second night of your stay, your AC stopped working at approximately 3:00 am in the morning. That was very unfortunate, as I understand that it was very hot, but there was no way of repairing the AC at that time of the night. By leaving the door between the rooms open, you would be able to get cool air from the one conditioner. As we could not get a service man on Sunday, I made arrangements for you to pick up a big fan from the guests in the two bedroom next door, as they were not using it. They couldn’t understand why you didn’t pick up the fan as planned. I do apologize for the pool, as further investigation showed that there was a broken part in the pool system. We have never charged for the use of the pool, but are disappointed that it wasn’t working properly for your stay. You can be sure that we are sourcing pool parts and will have it back in operation as soon as the parts arrive. Operating in a third world country makes it difficult to get parts and supplies that we need for machinery on the property. Unfortunately, break downs do occur, and it is always trying for our guests and management, however we do the best we can to ensure our guests are happy.     Property and house were well maintained. Beach adjacent, and cold AC.

    Ants all over the kitchen even with no food out, after using bug spray I found 3 species. Gate has a motor but its broken and has a nest in it. Not fun to walk through mud to open and close the gate in pouring rain.

For the first 10 days that you stayed with us, you were delighted with your stay and told Travis several times. However, on the 11th day you decided to cut your stay short by 3 days and wanted a refund. On all the booking sites refunds are not allowed if a guest decides to leave early on a confirmed stay. You answered me on the site with a threat: “Me being out a few hundred dollars was a small price to pay for the entertainment you are about to have”. I’m sorry that you chose to handle your change of mind in this manner, as its hardly fair to a property that looked after your needs and fulfilled the terms of the agreement.     Liked it a lot. Located at the end of a quiet road with a canal running along side and in back. Well kept grounds and interior. Great air conditioners and fans. Kitchen had everything one would need and then some. Drinking water provided. Secure parking. There is only 2 rental units so very little human traffic. Nice trees and great little private pool. Kind and helpful host/owner.

    There is nothing that we didn’t like.

    LOCATION EXCELLENT. CLOSE TO TOWN BUT QUIET

    I don't know of anything I would improve except a coffee maker in my room.

    Very comfortable and relaxing environment. It was nice to roam around with some coffee and look at the sunrise. It was Home away from home! The fact we had a kitchen to prepare a meal or two was the icing on the cake.

    There wasn't anything to not like.

    The pool was nice and the bed was comfortable

    The listing stated cable and satellite tv. We never had either. When we arrived Rita told us we were getting the two bedroom instead of the cottage because she didn’t want to move her stuff. I think we would have been better off in the cottage. We were told not to run the ac in the bedroom and the living room at the same time. This made it impossible to be comfortable in both areas at the same time during the heat of the day. I don’t think this would have been a problem in the smaller unit. I also think the advertised tv would have been available in the smaller unit. There were other minor maintenance issues that weren’t worth mentioning especially after how our request for the advertised tv was received by Rita. She was grumpy. I would have given this place w much higher score if Rita had just been apologetic about the tv situation. She was always busy with something more important than us.

    I am sorry that you found everything so wanting on your recent visit. I fail to understand how a property is rated at mostly 10’s and then could fall so short for one guest? The problem lies in attitude. Not once did I hear please or thank-you. Demands had to be met immediately. After a few days it became unbearable. The cable was replaced by a Firestick that supplied much more content. Cable supplies mostly Spanish programming. However, all was not lost, I found your husband to be a pleasant and considerate guest. As a host, I go to great lengths to please guests. It’s unfortunate that hardly one thing was to your liking.

    The exterior was so pretty. Well-manicured lawn, pool access, canal and ocean view were amazing. The interior was very nice. The place was clean and we had all of the amenities that we needed. Plenty of towels, the bedding was comfortable, kitchen was stocked.

    No complaints. It was a very pleasant stay.

    AWesome host deserves the high rating Rita has.

    I'm so sorry that you didn't feel that you got good value for your money. That seldom happens to us, as guests are delighted with a property which is close to a three quarter million dollars investment. We upgraded you to a 209.00 per night unit when you paid $129.00 per night, so you can imagine my surprise to hear that you didn't see the value. The location is clear to our guests, so if you desired to be downtown then you should book a property in town. Our guests see this location as a plus, as it is much quieter here, no barking dogs, loud music and risk of crime.
