Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe windows in the room are quite small, so it’s difficult to let fresh air into the apartment and as a result the room remains quite humid.
The apartment is located only a few steps away from the market and the central area of the town. The apartment itself consists of a private room and a bathroom, and a shared kitchen.

United StatesIt's very easy to walk to convenient stores, restaurants, and tour agencies. There is a common living area where you can get drinking water, use the refrigerator. It feels safe and easy to navigate around this area. The bedroom is slightly on the small side but the bathroom is very spacious. There is no daily housekeeping unless you request for it. Get the number of the owner so you can message them if there is any problem. We stayed three nights and it was a good experience.

Great location, very close to downtown area, market and Cahal Pech pyramids. The AC was not working properly but they fixed it super fast and then it worked great. I liked the shared kitchen in case you want to make some food. The room and restroom were very big.

CanadaReally nothing we didn’t like. It was not a private kitchen but that reflected on the good rental rate. No bugs, so guess that’s another plus. Concierge was right on anything we had trouble setting up, like the gas stove.
Nice, functional kitchen, good a/c in the bedroom, cool tiles on your feet, plenty of bottled water, clean place, roof top view and breeze, felt very safe and very helpful, informative and nice concierge. Plus, close to town but also, quiet location!

United StatesA room safe would have been handy, though then you also run the risk of forgetting to take passports for Tikal. Lavatory stopper didn't work too well, so I just used a towel when dealing with contact lenses.
Location was 5 minute walk down to downtown and Burns street, but still quiet enough for a peaceful stay. This allowed us enjoy restaurants, shops, and markets in the evenings after spending the daytime at remote jungle locations, without having to drive after dark. Room was large and cool with AC and daylight basement location with unexpected heat wave during our stay. Bathroom large with clothesline for drying swimsuits and towels. Shared kitchen had everything you could ever need.

This was probably the cleanest, most organized place we have ever stayed. The common kitchen was spotless! Charlene, the manager even got us a full bag of ice for free! We tried to reserve again 3 weeks later, but it was full-up!

United StatesThere is no A/C in kitchen, but does have a ceiling fan. Would have been nice to have one more chair in kitchen.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom with private kitchen. Kitchen was well stocked for most cooking needs (never tried the oven). Rooms are big and each had two beds, great for family of 4. Also nice to have 2 bathrooms. Fridge (with freezer) is big and works well.

AustraliaRainforest Haven Inn was well located to town and the kitchen was well set up and really useful. Shamira was a friendly host, the bedroom was spacious, as is the bathroom and l enjoyed sitting on the swing chair on the front verandah a lot of the time. We also spent a couple of evenings on the roof top verandah which is a lovely man’s new hot sauce and rum tasting business. Would recommend a stay here.

United StatesWhat a delightful stay! Spotless, prime location and incredibly friendly! Rainforest Haven Inn is so appropriately named! The host Charlene is simply lovely in every way and provided the BEST hospitality. The accommodations are super clean, spacious and comfy. You can easily walk to the downtown area to enjoy stores, restaurants and the outdoor market. There is a shared kitchen that has everything you need. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, I felt welcomed and cared for and I will stay here again when I return.

United StatesNo dislikes, everything was perfect!
Staying at Rainforest was so splendid we did not want to leave! The rooms were so spacious and lovely. Everything was very clean and in perfect condition. The A/C was better than I expected, and the mattresses were so comfortable I slept like a baby. The location was perfect, walking distance to the market and restaurants. Shirley was such a wonderful and gracious host. The rooftop offers nice views of San Ignacio. I absolutely hope to visit the Rainforest Inn again and hopefully book a Marie Sharp cooking class next time!

United StatesThere is only one thing we really had an issue with. The WiFi connection was not very strong in the bedroom farthest from the door. If the WiFi strength could be boosted or extended, that would go a long way to making things better!
The pricing for this place is really awesome for what you get. You receive two comfortable bedrooms with AC plus a kitchen and sitting area for added space. Honestly, if you're looking for an affordable accomodation for a larger group, then this is absolutely the place!
