How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified review. The bed was comfortable, the owner was nice, the AC was definitely necesarry on the island and having a free bike was nice to move aorund.
OK for a short stay but a bit overpriced for what it was in my opinion. The kitchen isnt really equipped for cooking much (no plates for example). There were some flooding issues (they did get fixed eventually) The water in the bathroom smells pretty bad and is very salty. WIFI was pretty spotty and dint work half the time. the place needs a little love and care.

Verified reviewAmazing place to stay on this amazing island. It was quick and easy to connect to the staff, and we were able to check in early, which was great news after a long boat ride out of Mexico. The place was clean, the beds were comfy and everything worked as it should, so we were happy. This was one of the cheapest stays on the island the moment we booked, but it felt quite luxurious to our standards. Of course, it is a bit further away from everything, though you could still walk it. However, this place provided free bikes for us during our stay, which made it even easier to get to the busier part of the island. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it!
Had some issues with the digital payment and check-in process they use, but this could well be a personal issue.

Verified reviewThere’s not a lot to like here. The pictures misrepresent the actual place, clearly using some kind of lenses. The staff here is rough and overly involved in your stay. Communication is not good, they say they’ll do something and don’t do it.
I was texted the morning of my first night asking if I had broken plates or glassware. The message was rude and accusatory. It was crazy, mind you I’m a solo female traveler in my late 40’s, not a single noise was made by me and I didn’t break anything. I told them this and inquired as to why they were contacting me. It was weird, made me very uncomfortable, and made me wonder if they are surveying the property more than was acceptable. Also, there were no glass plates to break - everything is plastic. This made me very uncomfortable and I left after only five days. Place is hell and gone from anywhere. No taxis available and about a 20 minute walk to get anywhere. There is no safe in the room. No free bikes. You can’t drink the water. And you have to put all your toilet paper in a waste basket instead of flushing. To say it was gross doesn’t even begin to explain. Your room will start to smell if you don’t take it out every time you go. You can’t open any of the windows, it is the darkest place I have ever stayed in. Drawers don’t work. Basically everything you need doesn’t work. No free bikes. You will have no hot water, cold showers only. The fridge smelled like someone died in it so we didn’t use it. Kitchen is gross too. The management company that runs this place is Vacasa, terrible company to deal with. They will neglect your requests, not provide any solutions to the things they say are here but are not. This is the 2nd bad experience with Vacasa, we will never work with them again. A warning in Brazil and Mexico, Vacasa is basically a scam company that lies about the accommodations and then act like they don’t know you when you call to wonder why nothing works. This was a huge mistake for us and huge hassle. We found much better accommodations up the island that were totally worth the couple extra bucks. Vacasa is a scam and shouldn’t be allowed to operate in any country!

Not even a dislike or a complaint really, but a small table with a couple of chairs outside would be nice.

There is no outside shelter in rooms 1 and 2 when it rains. The yard itself is quite empty of greenery
