Loved the location, its away from downtown Calgary, but close enough for a cheap uber ride, and still plenty restaurants and cinema on the doorstep. The adjoining restaurant was pretty good too.

No coffee shop (I know it’s coming 😍). Better if a luggage rack can be placed in the room as we had two big cases. Our bad back couldn’t easily access to the one placed on floor. Given so much space between the sofa n tv, that’s would be great if there is a small coffee table.

New, minimalist design, everything I need is there though, if not u can ask them to provide (like I needed a kettle for hot water). Sufficient lighting in the room. Spacious at the lobby.

There was no kettle and this had to be requested. Perhaps you can place a kettle inside each room for convenience instead of having to request for it. Also would have been good to have included a comb among the toiletries.

The one thing they could improve is Wifi. Its fine when the hotel's not full. But if you have a group staying there (particularly university age) then it slows down. I would also appreciate a microwave in the room.

The lobby area is a fantastic place to hang out and meet with a friend. The Charcut restaurant off the lobby is also fantastic. They have great pizza, pasta and meat (they are butchers) and can make anything gluten free. I LOVED the room. this is the second time I have stayed here and would live here if I could. The ceilings are high, the decor is fabulous, they have blackout blinds, the bathtub is big and deep, the bathroom is huge, the bed is really comfortable, the desk chair is adjustable in height, there is a Nespresso machine and so on... Location is excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby and a grocery store across the street. Also, a section of the main floor has an area you can eat your takeout if you prefer that to eating in your room.

Only honest feedback would be that any form of soundproofing seems to have been forgotten when building. The noise transfer between rooms and the hallway is a bit much. Doors slamming. Can hear the elevator and ice machine at the other End of the hallway! So I always request far away. That being said it is a quiet hotel with mainly respectful guests. But difficult when odd times you will have disturbances from those who are there for other activities. But they make a great effort to combat this. The construction in the next while outside will be a downfall for Alt…. It is evident at 7-8am. Even in -15. And sometimes until 6pm at night in winter. Thankfully the staff well makes up for this in their kindness. Gym had potential. But is so small :( Unsure if they have amenity kits. I asked for Qtips and they don’t have those. So be aware they might not have other items. Hotels are not a new thing. And all over the world, even those built in the last 2-3 years I’m shocked. There are very few Chains that pay the money for better soundproofing/windows in general. So that way no one is more important than anyone else. They can be noisy or quiet and enjoyed by all. Camomile tea is popular but even in them knowing they never order more to stop running out. It’s my Fave and always runs out when I stay.

One of my Fave stays, modern, chill, I don’t feel like I am in Calgary which is great! Always super clean. Top Mention to David and Dustin! Nice ambiance and music. I enjoy the vibe when you walk in. I love that majority of the staff truly care about my stay/me and also remembered me when I returned is top tier and means a lot. Kind gestures really make me feel welcomed and appreciated. Makes a huge difference for me where I travel and stay. Location is great as the University District evolves. All you would need within walking distance. Groceries. Restaurants. Market Wines. Fitness. CF Market Mall and more. Their selections of teas are amazing and organic. Love the Nespresso in Room. Duvet as the bed cover is amazing and usually in very high end hotels. Much healthier and better for sleeping. Love that they have actual decent wine glasses.
