Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBooking a stay here means recognising this is a character property - not a purpose-built hotel - and it reflects its Victorian history. There is no lift for example (but there is someone on hand to help with luggage). As for us, we were entirely happy with everything!
We chose this hotel as we always prefer to stay in character properties and Manoir Sherbrooke delivered it in bucket loads! Full of charm and character, it was an excellent choice for our first few days in Canada. The owner and all the staff were very welcoming and always on hand to help, ensuring we had a comfortable stay. The location away from Old Montreal suited us - it's a perfectly do-able walk or an easy Uber ride - but it's fair to say there's a better choice of restaurants in the old town. Breakfast was generous and there's coffee etc on hand throughout the day. Our room was at the back of the hotel so although we didn't have a view, it was very quiet which is more important for us. Everything was very clean and housekeeping was available every day (as required). We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day stay here.

CanadaShower was a bit tricky to use, but staff could explain it, and spoke English (and French) very well. The place is old -- and a few aspects are a bit "worn in" so if you want sleek modern perfection, this is not the place for you. But for travellers who appreciate charm and warmth will like it. Sherbrooke is quite a busy street, however the hotel seemed quiet and relaxed inside - and was close to everything (Plateau, Chinatown, downtown campuses, walking distance)
They have a really pretty shared breakfast room -- it's an old manor house, and lots of antique touches around. Breakfast was simple, but very nice (continental style) with very good coffee. If you want engaged staff, attention to service, and value for money, with loads of charm -- stay here. We had rented a car -- and although they do not have designated parking, they recommended a good, cheap lot nearby.

AustraliaWe stayed on the ground floor (reception level) and there was nothing that we could find fault with.
We were very pleasantly surprised when we walked into the hotel and the bedroom was delightful. The staff were extremely helpful and breakfast the following morning was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

JapanIt doesn’t have an elevator, so you need to carry your luggage up and down, and at times, people are noisy outside at night.
The building inside and outside is Victorian, organized and clean. Breakfast was great in the fabulous dining room. Coffee is available 24 hrs. And most of all, staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location in a nice neighbourhood, close to the metro and buses. The staff were SO lovely - nothing was too much trouble! Breakfast was good and the 'living room' area was very relaxing, with free drinks. The bedroom was comfortable and water pressure was good.

United KingdomNice breakfast but because we stayed for a week it was repetitive would have loved some whole fruit.
Loved everything about the house. Old world charm. Great friendly staff could have stayed longer but after 7 days had to depart for next stage of adventure. Sat outside in the evenings cafe table and chairs in near garden at front. Wine available at reception. Coffee and tea/hot chocolate available all day. Surprised at how quiet location was as it is situated just off main road. Walked everywhere so great location for our stay. Breakfast pastries/croissant 🥐/ cake/ cheese sausages /boiled egg/ mixed fruit/yogurt and dried fruits selection.

The front desk is the most warm-hearted. They did everything to make my trip smoothly. The breakfast is surprisingly delicious. There is no much options other than bread, but all the bread and jam is carefully selected. Please try the peanut butter! The location is also great, close to everything but not too hustle.
