How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had the loft. Very comfortable bed and room with a lovely jacuzzi tub and a balcony. It was quiet and although full with other guests, we didn’t hear a sound except the crickets. The breakfast was exceptionally good. Fresh baked croissants, fruits, juice, and a tasty omelette that came with a wide variety of fillings. The hostess was so kind and friendly and provided lots of great information on the room and the local neighbourhood.
We had no issues and can’t say we’d ask for any improvements

Verified reviewIt’s a nice B&B, clean and comfortable, and like many reviewers have pointed out, the breakfast is really good. The hosts are kind and show great hospitality. The breakfast area was cozy and had a lot of indigenous artefacts that added character to the property. I had booked the double queen room on the second floor and I was satisfied with my room and facilities. The attached bathroom looked recently renovated. There is ample parking and a nice little creek that flows beside the property. Other than that there isn’t much to see around. I went for a walk around the property and I was a little disappointed in the area. I later visited Mont Sainte-Anne, which is about a 20 minute drive and wished I had stayed there instead. The Mont area is really beautiful and there are a few hotels and B&Bs over there. I had dinner at Braseurs des Monts, and loved it. Wish I could spend more time around that area. Overall a decent stay for the price, and worth it mostly for the amazing breakfast.
Just nitpicking, carrying luggage over the stairs was a bit of a hassle.

Verified reviewWonderful place! We were a family of 4 travelling from Denmark and staying for 2 nights. The place has a wonderful atmosphere, it is very clean, the rooms and beds are great, the host is very friendly and of course - the breakfast is better than you will find in any restaurant. There is a 25 min drive to Quebec City, so obviously you need a car, but after a day of walking through Quebec, it is a great place to relax and recharge. For example in the outdoor furnitures next to a small river, or on the front porch. Perfect. Would definitely stay again👍👍👍

Verified reviewFresh, sweet fruit, the croissants and hot bread of the day every day, homemade jam, selection of different omelets to choose definitely the breakfast was amazing!!! I really liked the place because it is next to a river. One thing that really stands out is the cleanliness of the place. Our room was spotless. The sheets and bedspreads smelled fresh. The place is a bit far from Quebec City, but we knew that beforehand. Over time, you get used to traveling to the surrounding areas. We were able to stay with our dog!!!
One thing I didn't like much was not having a shower in our room. The bathtub is a bit high, so it's difficult to get in or out, but with all the other good things, I think that's secondary.

Verified reviewConvenient location, just 25 minutes from either old Quebec City or Ille d'Orleans, which we loved! Very accommodating; made us feel at home. Breakfasts were amazing! Coffee available prior to breakfast; enjoyed it on the lovely front porch. Marie was delightful! Dinner was amazing right down the street at Auberge Baker.

Verified reviewOur host was very pleasant. Check in was easy. Since it wasn't a busy evening, we were given our choice of rooms. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. There were many small improvements since my last stay a few years ago, particularly in the bathroom. The breakfast of omelette and fresh fruit was very tasty and accompanied by choice of black coffee, cafe au lait, juice and a choice of bread and pastries. The house is full of good art. The dining room is grand. There is as large front porch adorned with flowers and a roof top patio to enjoy the evening.
