Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe room was quite small, glad we're skinny people. We gave our daughter the room with slightly more space. But rooms needed a stand for one suitcase at least. I filled drawers with my clothes, which wasn't easy because the chair and fan were in front of the drawers. My husband kept his suitcase in the bathroom. And where was the proprietor? I met a housekeeper, Mary, who was very friendly and helpful. But that was only for the first two mornings, she wasn't there the other two. It lacked social warmth. Other guests did not interact, with us or with each other. It would have been pleasant to be welcomed at breakfast every day or a goodbye when we left. A woman did dash out from an office with a bonjour to me as she flew by. I wondered who she was.
Beautiful furnished and conveniently located with walking distance to all the sites we wanted to visit and amazing restaurants. Proprietor responded promptly via email when asked for restaurant recommendations, and rooms were clean and quiet enough with comfortable bedding and plentiful toiletries. The common areas were lovely, and we took advantage since the rooms are quite small. The continental breakfast included boiled eggs, so we were very satisfied including the pastry options and the regular offering of tea and pastries throughout the day were welcome.

CanadaThe only thing about the property that was a little bit hard was the parking but they had a deal with the Delta hotel so we had places to park

CanadaSteep narrow staircases---getting bags to the third floor room was a challenge. The bedrooms/ensuite are small dormer rooms, though compensated by the many comfortable communal spaces on the second floor.
Lovely continental breakfast which could be taken in the solarium or on the terrace. Beautifully decorated in period style, and generously sized, public spaces, use of a full modern kitchen. Ice maker, coffee, tea, sweets always available. Amazing attention to detail! Enjoyed learning the history of the house. Many coffee shops and restaurants nearby, and a two-block walk to the gate to the old city.

United KingdomNothing!
It was so well maintained, almost like staying in a film set. The continental breakfast was fabulous, facilities just great with hot drinks available 24 hours. The bedroom was quite small and had no wardrobes but was beautifully dressed and very comfortable. The owner was on site each morning, she was very friendly. The location was perfect, on a main street but just out of the main town.

United StatesThere’s nothing we didn’t like. But please be aware there are stairs to climb to get to the rooms and the rooms are not large modern hotel size. Not a problem. We loved our stay. Future visitors with mobility issues might need to be mindful of these factors.
Everything about the property was wonderful. I agree with all the positives reviews…clean, comfortable, good breakfast, lovely welcome int and helpful bilingual host, and exceptionally beautifully decorated and cared for. We took advantage of the lovely parlor, dining room, solarium, tv room and roof terrace. The weather was exceptionally hot for our visit but the Auberge was comfortably air-conditioned. WiFi works well, and the suggested parking at the Delta hotel just behind the Auberge worked well.

United KingdomRoom (2) was a little small. While this was stated in the room details, we had bought (too much) luggage for our trip across Canada and so we had to manage our use of space carefully.
Very helpful staff and an excellent location for exploring Quebec city. Lovely 'old world' atmosphere thanks to the sympathetic restoration. Good choice at breakfast and access to kitchen at all times. Some excellent restaurants within 10 minutes of hotel.

CanadaThe room was very small. So we worked from the common areas, which were comfortable and quiet. It did not impact our stay though we were surprised when we arrived, and from what we were expecting from the photos.
Awesome interior style and commodity, cozy terrace. Perfect location on upper Saint-Jean near bars and restaurants, within a couple of hundred meters from the Congress Center. Recommended.

United StatesThe room we had, #4, was tiny. Not just tiny, but with a sloping ceiling. It was dangerous to get out of bed on one side, even for a short person. There was one chair to sit in that was under the sloping ceiling, so you had to be very careful standing up. The toilet and shower were in a small are behind a sliding door. The sink was in the room with the bed. This was like staying on a ship, with tiny quarters. All nicely done, but it would have been better for a solo traveler. Also, take the warning seriously about the two flights of stairs. This is an old building, with a narrow, curved staircase. Difficult for carrying a full-size suitcase. After a day of walking the hills and stairs in the city, you have to save some energy to get to your room. We didn't meet the people who run the inn. There was one person who sat at a computer near the kitchen at breakfast time. We said hello/bonjour and she greeted us back, but continued working. It was like staying in an Airbnb.
Beautiful lounge area, decorated with antiques. Quiet room. Lively street with restaurants.
