The host was excellent, a lovely lady who was a great help to us. Location gave a great wilderness experience. The cabin had all we needed, the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely consider returning in the future. Stephen

    Quiet, excellent value

It would be great if the window opened it was quite warm.

    Property response:

Have a window ordered just trying to get someone to install it, hopefully before the fall

The remote location was a plus for me. However we didn’t bring enough supplies for the overnight stay and had to drive 25kms back to Blue Lake for food. The rustic cabin was small inside but cosy. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. The horn noise from passing trains was a bit sad as it detracted from the remote setting, but not too much of a problem. The host was very friendly and helpful. There was a eclectic mix of old, bespoke and new fittings which was interesting.

It didn’t trouble me that the drinking water was dispensed from a 20litre bottle and tasted fine but the tap water definitely had a bad smell to it. We hadn’t gotten I’ll from the water 24 hours after showering and brushing our teeth with it. We were informed to NOT drink the tap water but not informed why.

    Property response:

It is well water fine for everything but the taste hence why you are provided drinking & cooking water

The property was beautiful and we loved the dogs.

We had the cabin closest to the train tracks and the biggest issue for us was the noise and the vibrations. The last train passed around 12am and the first one around 6am so we were able to sleep during this time frame.

    Property response:

The train was by here at least 4 times between 12 & 6 am some people like the trains & some do not. Really confused by your cleanliness rating I personaly checked that cabin did I miss something ??

I was in the "North of 60" cabin and found it was well-equipped and stocked with things for cooking and making coffee the next morning.

    I don't have any critiscms.

The cabin was in great shape, clean and comfortable and the kitchen worked well for me to cook dinner.

The nearby trains would blast their horns at the crossing and it was quite loud.

The cabin was super cute and rustic. Definitely loved the vibe. Cozy and clean.

We weren’t comfortable with not being able to lock the door.

    Property response:

Well this is the first year we haave had complaints about that pick up a lock set next time I go to town. Thank you

Beautiful place in the forest. The host was super nice and helpful. The cabin got everything you need with a perfect kitchen. Bring bug spray, tons of mosquitos, but with bug spray it's okay.

Train is passing by really close and honking loud. Didn't bother us too much but it's a noteable thing.

    Nice location in the mountains

No screens, cabin full of mosquitoes along with train noise only slept one hour. No care on how the cabin was slapped together. Expected a toilet for a cabin that rents for $90 a night. The outhouse doesn't have a seat and the door doesn't shut. Neither does the outdoor flush toilet with the sink that didn't work.

    Property response:

I take it you did not read the cabin description. The long drop outhouse does not have a seat as it is built that way so your butt is warm when you sit & who is gonna bother you when your sitting in the outhouse. As for the other outhouse there is a lock on the door, the sink in the other bathroom you probably turned on the hot water side which does not work. The cabin is advertized as rustic. Had you have come to the house & told me you were having problems with mosquitos I would have gladly helped you out with that & I might have upgraded you. Instead you choose to be a coward with with your anonymus review & I chalk you up as just another keyboard warrior stay in a town next time, fyi mosquitos are in the bush your cabin was in the middle of the bush.

    Nothing and over priced

The high sulphur levels in your water couldn’t even shower no privacy and no locks on doors as a secondary caution measure to keep customers safe

Location, it truly is a wilderness retreat. The host Micky and her super friendly dog are the highlights of our stay.

Having a central water filtration system with water softner would be nice as they are using well water. Also, can add some swings or kids play area so they small kids can spend their times. The dogs were very playful so my son had nice time playing with it, especially Zeek!

Very nice place. We had a great time. The cabin we got was simple, but very cozy and comfortable. Full kitchen with everything you need. Cute with very thoughtful details. We would definitely stay there again. Mickie and the dogs were super welcoming!

Owners were very friendly and accommodating, cabin was very cozy and had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Wifi wasn’t the greatest, and minimal cellular service.

The location was stunning, and the hosts (and dogs) were very kind.

Others have pointed it out: the train was really loud but this didn't disturb me or impact my overall experience.

The cabin was cute, comfortable and clean. A great deal of cooking appliances were provided. The satellite tv worked. As there were no lights - the stars were magnificent.

It wa a 50m walk to the toilet/shower in pitch black - no lights or path - very scary - helped with the torch from an iphone. The taps in our room were not working. Advertised as a "wilderness retreat" but only about 400m from the highway and close to a trainline with horns blasting at least every hour during the night.
