How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Had to pay $30 extra for my dog and the pool you could not swim in as it smelled funny for the kids and the hot tub was not working
I like the location. The staff were nice. Love that it’s next to Smitty’s.

The reason I didn't enjoy my stay as much really had nothing to do with the beautiful hotel and was beyond thier control. Someone was using a leaf blower at two o'clock in the morning in the lot beside the hotel which just happened to be right outside my room. It was loud and went on for over an hour. My car was also covered in a thick layer of dust
Everything about the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was awesome with lots to choose from. It made traveling nicer because we could skip lunch

Breakfast room wasn't large enough for us to be able to eat there, .was difficult to have breakfast with a toddler without a place to sit. Hot tub was broken so we couldn't enjoy that feature

They advertised free breakfast with the stay but both days we were there we didn't get any because they never refilled the items once they had put them in. Went down twice on the one morning and still hadn't replaced anything. Don't advertise free breakfast if you can't stay up with it. It really wasn't that busy either. Staff was good but didn't seem to care when many people had asked for refills of eggs, coffee etc. sub par stay.

It is a "pet friendly" hotel ... so be prepared for that "odour" that goes with the territory. Not unpleasant ... d I got used to it quickly ... but if you are sensitive to such things just be aware. There were no visible signs of the presence of pets and here was nothing "in your face" about being pet friendly.
Location was perfect for me ... beside the Shell, an A&W and across the street from Tim Hortons!

I wasn’t a fan of the pool being so close to the outside doors. Also did not like the breakfast setting as it was difficult to have a seat as it was so cramped

As we went to bed we could hear a banging noise, turns out the banging noise was from the bathroom fan ducting. If we ran the bathroom fan the banging noise would stop but the fan itself made a lot of noise as well. since it was 1am we did not want to complain at the front desk and have to pack up our bags to switch rooms. so we toughed it out. BUT in hindsight if this happened again we would ask the front desk staff for a different room. Because our overall sleep was very interupted.

Cleaning staff walked into my room! Shortly after I checked in.. there was a knock at the door… I got up and didn’t even get to take one step forward and a cleaning lady was in my room! She had a towel that I noticed was missing from the bathroom! She did not give me time to answer the door! What if I was indisposed?? Very unacceptable after check in time!! This made me nervous the rest of my stay in case it would happen again! In addition the front desk lady was not friendly at all. Looked upset all the time and bothered by my being there.

I wasn't too impressed with the two girls in check-in. The night we arrived, we didn't even receive a smile or welcome. The men we met there during our stay were more pleasant. That was our only complaint.
The cleaning staff and the breakfast staff were excellent and worked hard. The beds were very comfortable. Issue with TV was dealt with within minutes of our call.
