It could have been cooler in British Columbia!

I have stayed at the Buccaneer Inn a number of times over the years. I like it because I like the rooms (large, full kitchens) and I like the human scale of the property - it is not a large impersonal operation. It is not for everyone - eg you might have to climb a few stairs - but it certainly works for me. Also the customer service is excellent.

The room was quite small but adequate. No air conditioning but we had a fan and were able to open the window.

The hotel is very close to the ferry port, so really convenient. The young woman who checked us in was lovely. I can’t remember her name but she is from Brazil. The room was lovely but no air conditioning.

The staff were hard to find the morning after we checked in because we wanted to inquire about a late check out. In the end we just checked out late anyway and it wasn’t an issue but we didn’t see a soul apart from the cleaning staff.

The king bed was amazing! Also the toiletries, shower and size of suite. The Brazilian receptionist who checked us in was also very helpful with recommendations.

This one time, the room was a little tight for two people. Would be good for one person. Other than that, it was fine.

Great location next to the ferry terminal so perfect for our early departure to Vancouver. Room was clean and comfortable with thoughtful amenities and a BBQ area at the back. It was much nicer than I had expected.

The location is close to a busy road.

We were travelling with 3 little kids on Vancouver Island and stayed in a few places. This was the only accommodation that offered proper beds for everyone. And the kitchen was well equipped.

Decoration was a bit outdated but that's not a big deal.

Close to the ferry terminal, and a couple minute drive to town. Our unit was spacious and quite. Bathroom was clean.

Good location, excellent suite with very comfy bed and a log to burn in the fireplace if you liked. Kitchenette equipped with coffee, creamer, salt &Npepper.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, did their best to accomodate us! We were a last minute booking due to a missed bus and they made sure to help with luggage storage, freshening up etc.

The kitchen and couch were tired looking, could use an update. Everything was amble. The front door needs replacing, could see gap along door.

Bit difficult to turn into the motel from Stewart Avenue going north, but that's not the motels fault.

Ben and the night manager (sorry forgot to get your name sir), were super helpful. Night manager found me a power cube so I could charge my phone as I forgot mine at home. The suite was very clean, like very very clean, better than a lot of more expensive places I have stayed. While the motel is older, it is kept immaculately. The bed was very comfy (Serta) and the linens were luxurious. Towel and bathroom were spotless and had all the little extras. There was a living room area with a comfy couch, dining table and a work station as well as a kitchenette. Location is across the road from the ocean and very close to Departure Bay ferry terminal.

A bit tricky to get in and out of from the main road. You can hear the upstairs neighbours as it is an older building, tho beautifully maintained.
