How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis place was great. We stayed here for two nights with our family and found it to be the perfect base to explore Jasper Park from. The place was super clean and in great condition, you can see that the owners put a lot of care in making this a really nice place. Bedding was super comfortable and even though we didn't come to Jasper to watch TV all day, it was nice to enjoy a big TV screen and watch the photos together we made that day.

Verified reviewCedar house was a perfect little weekend getaway. It had beautiful views of the mountains and was right in the quaint town of Jasper. Walking around was town from our place was super easy. There was wild life everywhere and all the locals seemed to know one another.
There is no oven or stove top so we weren't able to cook anything. The designated parking behind the property was a little difficult to find at first but once you found it it was like entering The Shire. Such a unique stay and the views made it even more worthwhile.

Verified reviewSuper close to all of Jaspers attractions, can get to some mountains and lakes in under 20 minutes, and can get to town within 5 minutes. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchenette was great to have. Stepping out of the door you get a beautiful view of the mountains. Pic attached is from the end of the road facing the skytram mountain
Hi Marco Thank you for the lovely review. It was great having you and your friends stay with us. I loved how you didn’t let the snow slow you down and you still got out to so many sites. Enjoy the rest of your trip. All the best Helen

Verified reviewCommunication prior to arrival and instructions to find the location were clear and timely. Check-in was according to our needs, as we arrived late at night. Lovely home and front yard, with a useful porch and space good enough for a bbq. Even if the house is not new it looks extremely well maintained and clean. We had a fair amount of personal requests, Helen and Rick went above and beyond to help in a genuinely caring way, from start to finish. We felt both understood and appreciated during our stay. Plus, it was nice to get the first snowy day in the season (which was the cause for some of our requests, as we are not used to dealing with snow/ice). The couch in the living room is beyond comfy, the kitchen is arranged in a smart way, you can seat in front of the window to have a meal with a nice sunny/snowy view. Many electric kitchen appliances are available, since gas stove or oven are not. It was great to find dressings in the fridge, more than plenty ground coffee, a good selection of teas and hot chocolate, among the most basic ingredients that anyone could need, including more than enough bottled water. The bedrooms are comfortable, however the master bedroom is a little tight. There are lots of plugs and adaptors by the head of the bed and the quality of the linens is quite nice too. As for the bathroom, I really liked the choice of shower amenities, no animal cruelty, big containers and the overall quality. We were given more than enough towels in different sizes.
Thank you so much for staying with us and for your kind review. It was a pleasure meeting you, I just wish the roads and travelling had been a bit better for you. All the best on the rest of your trip. Helen

Verified reviewThe location is great! walking distance from Jasper town. the house was clean and rooms were comfortable. The sitting area and the grill on the porch is a real bonus. The host herself was friendly and helpful with good advice on places to go in Jasper
Small sink, fridge, and kitchen in general. Lack of a stove makes it difficult to prep food at home and most of the decent restaurants close quite early, around 9 pm, in Jasper.
Hi Reza. Thank you for your feedback back. Due to local regulations we are not able to provide a stove. We do have a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and BBQ. Thanks for the opportunity to make this clear to future guests. Helen.

Verified reviewVery spacious apartment with a nice patio. Complimentary coffees provided. Hosts were really friendly.
The lighting was a bit harsh, which made hanging out in the apartment in the evenings slightly less enjoyable.
Hi Olivia Thanks for your feedback. We do have dimmer switches for the living room and kitchen on the light switch should you like to have softer lighting. Cheers

Verified reviewPerfect location to visit the region and its many parks. A lot of recommendations from the hosts who have lived in Jasper for years. Several good restaurants in town. Very quiet neighborhood.
The only thing lacking was a cooktop to make meal preparation easier. As it was Summer during our visit, we could use the BBQ but I don't know if we would have been able to cook in the Winter.

Didn’t have a washing machine but no biggy. We did our laundry in town like most other travellers.

Verified reviewThis is a nice 2 bedroom 1 bath house. The owner lives upstairs and is very helpful. The kitchen doesn’t have a stove but it’s very well equipped to cooking small meals like quesadillas, pasta, and more. My favorite part is the wonderful coffee - I ended up drinking it outside on the patio watching the beautiful mountains.
The only hiccup was for summer days - this unit doesn’t have AC or a fan so we had a hard time falling sleep in the night. Other than that we had a wonderful time.
