Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur room was very damp even though the air conditioning was running throughout our stay. Sheets felt damp. Room smelled damp. Whole place is a tad bit run down and dated. Breakfast was disappointing— served canned fruit cocktail.
Good location to easily walk around Old Town. Close to lots of restaurants. Onsite parking. Cool wine dispenser in lobby. 24 hr coffee in the lobby. Nice airy breakfast room.

LuxembourgWould definitely benefit from a little TLC, looks a bit outdated (although well maintained).
Nicely located in the old town, easy parking (as long as your car does not exceed the size of a mid-level SUV), size of the room. Very nice staff.

CanadaParking very limited, need to arrange in advance. Not always clear when booking that this is necessary.
Central location old town, walkable to main sites. Rooms are large and high ceilings, bathrooms fully equipped. Good breakfast available for reasonable cost and helpful people at desk.

SingaporeA bit of smell in the room. Room was not cleaned although we had requested it. No anti-slip mat in bathtub used for shower and no grab handles, making the slippery tub a potential fall danger.
Good location in the old town with parking (reservation and payment needed). Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room was spacious. Location was within walkable distance to tourist attractions, though Quebec City has a lot of up/down slopes. The complimentary cappuccinos are very much appreciated, thank you!

CanadaThe worn carpet on level one leading to the rooms. Although our bathroom was stylish, the shower walls appeared to be moldy. Our room has a bit of an unpleasant musty smell and the window to the room looked directly into the gym so we couldn't keep our blinds open. Although the bed was comfortable, the metal bed frame was fragile & noisy.
Good location & central to all shops & restaurants. On a quiet street & appreciated being able to park my car on site. The free coffee, tea & lemon water in the lobby was a nice touch.

The staff is wonderful. Bed was very comfortable. While they didn’t have a parking spot available they had access to a spot a very short distance away. We walked every where and never used the car at all. Bonus was that there is a laundromat very close by.

CanadaThere were three of us on this travel but only one key available for the room, which was difficult to continue to work around when we were making different plans and had to walk the dogs at different times. the Room also didn't seem to have been vacuumed as there was an unknown sock that our dogs found under the bed in the first hour of being in the room. We didn't mind that the carpet had stains because we understand pets have accidents, but it was noticeable.
The room was great, and I liked that we were facing the park not the street. We all really loved that we could have our dogs with since it made being able to take this vacation possible. Appreciated having the parking near by. The wine card was so cool, and we enjoyed getting to try some local wines.

United StatesWish we had known about the difference in the room types- I felt a bit bad for those of us who had the newer rooms because the rooms on the older side were gorgeous.
We had multiple rooms for our family members. One side of this hotel is newer- facilities were fine, modern and clean but not necessarily charming or memorable. We had 2 rooms on the older side that were beautiful. Room 1- lovely victorian decor with high ceilings. Room 2. The attic was large but cozy, exposed beams and stone walls- with a full kitchen..it was fabulous and became the room in which we all gathered in the evening. Free coffee all day- and good coffee, was a plus! Wine on site was appreciated. We visited for Winter Carnival and all festivities were easy to walk to. The staff was great.
