Our room was small but comfortable ( termed a 'mini room'.) Our room's balcony was inaccessible

Beautiful historic building in an excellent location. Wonderful sitting area on the main floor. Very quiet atmosphere. Private parking area in front. Modern bathroom. We wish the hotel all the very best.

The water pipes in the other rooms could be heard when in use.

Exactly same as described and in the images. Super clean, newly renovated, breathtaking picturesque view over the city, great check in and out experience, comfy bed. And again, super clean.

No breakfast despite an incredibly beautiful breakfast room. No staff on site, but that's not the issue - check in was easy enough. But they are hard to reach via email / messaging and not too responsive, so you have to phone for anything which is expensive with an international phone. Location is gorgeous and quiet, but not really walking distance to the nearby city (you CAN walk but the road isn't the most walkable). Not much in the way of shops / groceries walking distance so you need a car.

Gorgeous historical building next to a gothic church, it was such a beautiful vibe if you're into it. The hotel is fully renovated and fairly new, so the rooms are pristine and tastefully decorated, fully equipped with a smart tv & coffee / tea facilities (also downstairs if you need your tea / coffee fix). Our room was quiet and fairly spacious, with a view on the church's side (so stained glass windows and old stone). Smaller than other rooms in North America, but as a European I am used to it - historical buildings are that way so be prepared for stairs and no elevator. Nice parking space. I really recommend this place if you want to stay somewhere aesthetically pleasing and different.

The room was tiny, even more then expected. On both nights someone went up to our door and was listening into our room this occured multiple times. As the bed bas basically next to the door we could clearly hear that there were listening into out room. Our code to open the front door didn't work thus we were stuck outside and had to call staff. Who gave us a code for a secondary door. The price is quite expensive for what you get.

I liked the comfortable bed and the renovated washroom. When our code to open the door didn't work the staff was responsive and got us in the building. The location was good too right next to the maison blanche museum.

You could hear other room doors opening and closing The rooms are small. Would be nice to put your suit case up on a stool Our shower when used had a lot of water out onto the floor and wood trim (this worried me, you don’t want to get wood rot)

There was no breakfast. We loved that it is part of the church! We loved the “old” part….. high ceilings, wood, stained glass windows. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean and well equipped with a fridge and amenities

Hôtel Château Cran Chaud is truly beautiful, with potential to be one of the best in the area!

As the room was small, there wasn't space for a closet. However, I noticed a few places on the wall that could have been used for additional hooks to hang coats, shirts, dresses, etc., without looking out of place. And there was no space to hang our towels in the bathroom. Because reception is not on site, we found it difficult to communicate with staff if needed. There was never anyone available to answer the phone listed at the front door, and the number listed on their online portal directed me to a different hotel. After attempting to contact the offsite reception via phone and messages, we were responded to via message 3 days later. While we appreciate that the building is very newly renovated and has only been open to guests recently, we were disappointed to learn that the only shared kitchen, as advertised, we could find was nothing more than a microwave and an ice-machine. This was fine, we were just expecting a bit more out of a space with that label and would have appreciated using it over a 5 day stay. As everything is online, check-out was the same via the hotel portal provided in an email. We booked and paid in full on Booking.com before arrival and yet at checkout there was an additional charge and, once again, no available contact for hotel reception to ask about this. I have sent messages to the staff via their online portal but received nothing in response. It was really a very small charge that I likely would have been happy to pay with appropriate communication. It was the fact that there was a charge, after paying in full, with no explanation and/or anyone to speak to that was the most disappointing for us.

The building itself has been beautifully renovated and, while the pictures online looked like AI generated pictures at the time of our booking, they were fairly true to the room itself. The room was quite small, but very clean, and we appreciated how quiet it was. We found the location to be perfect as well. It is an easy, 10 minute drive to shopping and additional restaurants and the 30 minute (as advertised by Google) walk to the downtown strip in Chicoutimi only took us 15. There are a few good restaurants even closer, as well, and it was only a short walk to Vieux-port de Chicoutimi for a walk along the water.

The floor isn't level so the type of bed base they choose is not sitting flush on the floor. It's noisy because it knocks when you move.

The vibe was awesome ! Very nice place. I like the autonomy of the check in experience.

The room was small and didn't provide a good description of how small the room would be. We had to squeeze through the bedspace to move from one side of the room to the other. For this reason, the price wasn't reasonable.

The chateau is in an ideal location. Without any contact, the check-in was easy. The common salon was wonderful with free coffee and water.
