Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe got the room number 8, it was a bit hard to find. there is no indication where the room number 8 was located. We spent a bit to find the room. You have to pass the dinning room to find the room, it's not next to the other rooms at all.
The location was pretty good! The room was very clean as well. They prepared whatever you need in the room.

CanadaWe were fine with this, but note that hotel doesn't have an elevator and the stairs are pretty narrow, so if you have heavy bags or mobility issues it's probably not the right choice.
This hotel was a delight. We loved our room, which had lots of space and two comfortable beds, and we especially loved the private deck with a view of the city. The decor is unique and homey throughout the hotel and everything is very clean and organized. You have access to everything you need in the communal kitchen/living area (except more coffee pods, which would have been nice). Check-in was smooth with clear instructions. The area was also wonderful, with lots of cafes, shops, and restaurants all along the street heading towards the Old Town (which was a half hour walk away so we walked most of the places we went). I'd absolutely stay here again!!

United StatesIt's not for everybody: - You'll need a phone. No one is here to check you in. Heck, you can't even get in without a code. The All-Virtual thing may be off-putting to some folks. - Location: It's an easy walk, but it's still a hike to Old Town. Again, it depends on what you're looking for. I really liked it. - The roof top deck could use some TLC. I'll take having one over not having one, but since it's there, maybe spruce it up a bit. - Takes you a little time to acclimate. Like I said, a code here, a code there, a sign here a sign there - fumbling your way around can feel like a bit much at first.
The highlights: - Clean, comfortable and cozy room. It's a little dated, but that simply adds to the charm. The shower was impressive for the age of the property. - Location: This is a tricky one. Depends on who you are, really. It's at the very end of the touristy area, which makes it easy to walk to old town (12-15min), the strip (as I like to call it) up Rue Saint Jean, and a preferred locals spot about 7min away (Av. Cartier). - The little dinning room common area was a nice touch. One day it rained hard for 2-3hrs, so I just looked out the window, drank my tea and caught up on emails. - Roof top view. - Convenient store right downstairs. - Many different types of restaurants near by - some even Michelin level.

United KingdomNo lift, but we knew about that in advance
Very quaint rooms and we had a lovely balcony to enjoy our evening drinks. Short walk to Cartier Avenue and the old town is literally on the same road. We used the parking at the back of the hotel for the car.

IrelandSink for handwash was in bedroom rather than shower/toilet room which disturbed other guest in room at night. Also glass door in bathroom meant bedroom too bright when one was using toilet facility. There was a slight odour from shower drain in room which persisted and I sent a text to contact number to advise but received no reply
Location was great, short and safe 10 minute walk to city wall. Apartment 4 was plenty big and airy with balcony. Check-in and access with codes was easy. Parking instructions and information was easy to follow

United StatesThere was no microwave in the kitchen. That would have been nice. Bathroom is quite small and old. The tile in the bathroom needs to be replaced. The price paid was a little high compared to other similar places that were better located.
Location was great. Very quiet. Saint-Jean offers easy access to most desired restaurants, bars and sites. The #14 apartment was large. Nice closet space. Bed was very comfortable. A/C and Heat worked great. WiFi and TV worked well. Large kitchen with full stove and dishwasher.

CanadaThe hotel was decent.
The hotel is located 15-20 minutes walk from Chateau Frontenac. There are many different cafés on the street where it is located, so one can easily find a dining place without going too far.

United StatesI wish the rooms had their own refrigerators and microwaves. Our coffee machine was broken and it wasn’t replaced until right before we left for home. If you don’t like stairs or have accessibility issues you might want to reconsider this hotel as there is no elevator and, since the building is on the older side of things, the stairs are steep.
Good location—close enough to Old Quebec (easy walking distance), but far enough away where the cafes and restaurants were much more reasonably priced. Plus there is a small convenience store on the first floor where you can run down and grab some good beers and ciders (for pretty cheap too compared to Old Quebec)—the store was open until 9pm. Right across the street was a great Peruvian restaurant that was open late. The neighborhood where the hotel was located felt less “touristy” compared to those hotels within the walls of Old Quebec. Hotel wi-fi was reliable.
