Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing. A really tremendous room.
Gorgeous room with the absolute best of everything. The most deluxe motel type accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. The furnishings are amazing, bed is comfortable, all basic needs (fridge, keurig) are met. The hosts are welcoming and very helpful. The location is terrific and the view is breathtaking. Wifi is excellent too.

Nothing at all. The room was perfect for us and we wish we could have enjoyed its comforts for the second night.
The inn is located in a peaceful, pastoral setting just outside of town. The facility was spotless and our charming little room was right sized for a couple and very comfortable. We had intended to stay for two nights to visit the area and play two games of golf at Le Portage, a course we loved on a previous holiday. Unfortunately, nasty weather precluded playing our second game. With nothing more to see or do, we decided to move on to our next destination and our lovely hostess steered us through the process to cancel our second nights stay! Superb service.

The Outback Inn is an exceptional place to stay. The accommodation is top notch and Host Michelle has taken care of every little detail. The bed is so comfy you may want to spend your entire vacation here.

Just a tiny thing - I could hear the sound of voices in the other suite from the bathroom so I was worried they could hear the sound of my draining the bath, which only seemed loud because otherwise all was so quiet!
Though the location isn't right in town, it's lovely and quiet and the stars are amazing. Our host was a joy to deal with and the suite immaculate, well appointed and so comfortable. The bath after a long day of hiking and exploring was just what I needed.

So clean, thoughtful extras - lovely spacious room with peaceful view but it comes down to Michelle the owner - she is outstanding- kind- caring and so hard working - exceptional !!! The BEST place I’ve stayed in in 5 weeks of travelling- a wonderful memory to have !

Michelle is one outstanding host, I cannot say any less. Caring, funny, she will make you feel at home. Do not pass by without staying here in Cheticamp. We were on our motorcycles and it rained during the night. The next morning Michelle had brought some towels on our motorcycles to wipe them down, now this is 5 star service. In September, we stayed at the Cheticamp Outback Inn for two nights. We had a wonderful time and so glad that we chose this accommodation. First of all, Michelle the host, was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. This Inn is in a converted primary school, where Michelle attended. She has done a beautiful job decorating it and it was very comfortable and homey. We stayed in Rm 5, The Highlander Room. It was extremely clean and the room was freshened daily. There was a microwave, fridge, a table and two chairs. There was also a small bed, if you have a child with you. There was a large, bright bath with lovely towels. The wifi was excellent, fast and secure. The location was excellent, just 5 min by car to town. Both nights we ate at La Gabriel, as it was open later and it had live music. Thank you so much, Michelle, for making our stay so memorable. We definitely want to return to Cheticamp in the future and look forward to staying with you again… leanne & joe We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Cheticamp!

Location was a bit far from the village but this was also a plus since it was quiet so we had a very good night sleep.
Owner went out of her way to ensure we had all that we needed. Room had little extra such as bottle opener, wine glasses, home made ice cubes.

Can't think of a thing.
Breakfast wasn't provided or expected. There was a kettle and coffee maker, plates, cups, etc. Very clean and pleasantly decorated. Michele the innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. If we could come back to Chéticamp, we'd stay here again.

Hard to believe, but I actually can't think of anything. Maybe If you were overlooking the ocean, it would be more perfect, but you don't really need it to enjoy yourself here.
Our stay at the Outback Inn was absolutely fabulous on both occasions. We loved everything about it. The owner thought of absolutely everything that we would need for our stay worth them. The staff was so cheerful and helpful with recommendations in the area, we felt like special visitors. Thank you, and we will absolutely be returning next summer, "or maybe over the winter", sounds like a marvellous idea for a few days stress-free.
