Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLimited breakfast hours - not suitable for those traveling long distances. Not possible to grab a few breakfast items if leaving early (and 6:30 am is definitely not that early if you are driving the Cassiar!).
Great rooms, very comfortable!

United StatesThe floor plan was interestingly odd, the room was very small to fit a luggage cart in to get luggage in and out of the room, and the bathroom was extremely small
The food was delicious, and the host the night we checked in was very helpful

CanadaThe bathroom floor was dirty, as were several other areas. The table was in a 3-sided corner completely out of sight of the tv. I prefer watching tv during my meal and/or work rather than while sleeping. The front desk man moved the table so it was in view of the tv when he came to replace the broken tv. All in all it took about 3/4 of an hour. I was thankful the guy corrected the situation, but it stole a chunk of time from my evening (and his), and my supper had grown cold. There was a gaping hole in the insulation below my door, which meant all hallway noise was in the room. As I was on the third floor, I wanted the curtains open to get morning sunshine, the inner lightweight curtains were all ripped and dangling, looking very slummy. Beyond the room issues, Days Inn/Booking send way too many emails, I think 8 emails at this point, (in another Days Inn it was endless text messaging, one waking me up in the early morning! but not at this location), two before I arrive, two more after arrival, one in the morning, and endless requests for claps in following emails. Also requests for claps on paper notes in the room. My suggestion: spend less time requesting claps and pay the cleaning staff better so they can do a better job in the rooms cleaning AND maintenance. Tips come from being impressed with service, not through coercing with notes.
The young man at the front desk was fantastic, he handled my easy special request, and he took the time to replace the non functioning tv in my room and moved my table so I could actually see the tv. Good hot water and third floor distant room had good internet.

CanadaThe Gym was extremely poor. Very few equipment that were not functioning well. Some were quite unsafe to work out on.
Rooms were simple, minimalistic as expected. An electric kettle in the room would have been much better.

CanadaThe breakfast was good value for the money but my friends joined me in town and their breakfasts came out after mine was getting cold. the egg wasn't cooked right but they were accommodating and helpful. Its a decent hotel my only concern was the moldy smell in the lobby and elevator.
The room was clean and comfortable. the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. The value with the breakfast at White spot was a nice bonus and it's central to downtown, so walking distance to the mall and Starbucks at Safeway.

CanadaFirst impression was horrible as the exterior of the building is being renovated. Was concerned about noise and possible fumes from paint/etc. However, room was quiet and there were no smells from the renos. If you are unable to walk up a few stairs you will need to let the front desk know because even though there was an elevator there were a few stairs we had to take to reach our room.
Room was nothing fancy but had everything we needed. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Had fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Breakfast was included and it was good. Eggs, bacon and/or sausage. choice of breads for toast, and tea or coffee. Centrally located with nice gift shop right across the street that had a large selection of items - - many with designs from local BC artists. We wandered the nearby streets and enjoyed the many murals by talented local artists. If you have time I would highly recommend to seek out some murals -- and don't forget to look in the alleys too!

CanadaThe downtown vibe was nice, away from the strip with all the chain restaurants. The staff were friendly and even though the hotel is a little older in some sections they have kept it up and I found it all great. The Whitespot restaurant provided for predictable quality in food and beverages.

CanadaTo access the hotel, there are a couple of stairs so that's not very convenient with luggage and would be a real problem for someone in a wheelchair. Similarly, we took the elevator and still there was a couple of stairs to reach our room.
The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the train station. There are restaurants nearby as well as a shopping centre.

The breakfast from White Spot was really good. We arrived around 8pm got settled and went to the restaurant for a bit just after but it was already closed. The gym is decent for being in a hotel. You can get your reps in while travelling.
