The water in the shower had two settings, freezing or scalding hot. There wasn’t really an in between option so showering was hard but other than that it was great

It had the most beautiful view from the front balcony with a walkway down to the water. Kristi made dinner for us as well. The bed was comfy, the house was clean and we had everything we needed, plus room for our dogs. It was absolutely amazing

I didn’t like that we stayed only one night… I could have stayed for a week!

This was one of the best places I have ever stayed! The water of the lake was so clean and great for a cool swim, my friend took the canoe out and loved it! The cabin was spacious and so cozy, best of all was the delicious food Kristy prepared for us made from the fish she caught in the lake! The bed was also super cozy and the fire kept us warm all night! It was so peaceful! We also loved the memoir that was available for purchase! It tells you ALL OF THE LORE about the cabin, Kristy, and her bad ass mom! It made the cabin even more magical and you can see just how much Kristy pours into this place! 10/10

There needs to be curtains or blinds in the loft to help with the sunlight being so far north.

Location was fantastic, cabin was well appointed and comfortable, and a wonderful dinner was provided.

    No complaints.

We can't say enough positive things about this facility. The spacious chalet was a treat, and the location/view by the lake was exceptional. Our pup couldn't have been happier with his run of the property. We would have stayed multiple days had the opportunity been available, though the proprietor had a "pet emergency" that prevented the option.

Some kind of hand rail or grip bar on the floor just to the left at the top of the stairs to the loft would be nice.

The location was gorgeous and easy to find with good signage off the highway. I'm not crazy about using an outhouse, but it was super clean and did not smell.

Absolutely stunning location, gorgeous cabin and fabulous meal! It's set on a private lake surrounded with mountains. Everything ran smoothly on alternative power sources and the walk to the pretty outhouse had lovely views to the lake. The host brought a homecooked dinner - chowder made from salmon she caught herself, homebaked sourdough bread, fresh from her garden salad with homemade dressing. The bed was warm and cozy despite the chill weather and the views to the lake from the cabin increedible! Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful and beautiful stay, an off grid experience worth every second. Right in front of a beautiful lake, you can enjoy the indoor coziness and the outdoor quiet. Host has been extremely kind, and the homemade dinner was delicious. So glad this place has been part of our trip!

The cabin was nestled in the woods and was just as advertised. We stayed on our way to Alaska and liked it so much we reserved it for our return trip. You are off the grid and that was ok with us. Kristi is very nice and a great cook. If you get the chance you should stay there.

Nothing, this place is a gem.

Everything was so incredible. Kristy made sure that we were well taken care of for our stay and even went above and beyond with homemade meals and having some pre chopped firewood for us to use. The view of the lake and the mountains are so stunning we could have spent the rest of our days at the cabin. We has such a great experience and hope to come back next time we are in BC.

Nothing everything was perfect. We didn’t want to leave.

Location, location location was simply stunning overlooking Cook Lake. The property was extremely well appointed and Kristy had thought of everything, fabulous comfy accommodation, pristine. The fridge was stocked with food Homemade apple juice (sorry Kristy we drank it all), orange juice, milk of various percentages, eggs and homemade jams. Fresh loaf of bread, cereals. A delicious pot roast in the oven, salad and dressing in the fridge for when we arrived, throughly enjoyed a homemade meal..Everything was so neatly organised, Kristy explained everything we needed to know. Bistro table and chairs on the deck, Kristy even supplied mosquitos burner and spray. There is no Wi-Fi signal so you are off grid, which is not a bad thing for a few days. You park at the top and walk down the gravel path to the private property, a buggy is available for luggage and bags to be trolled down. A small boat is available for guests to take on the lake, which we did, life jackets are hung up for guests to use.

Breakfast was good. Made coffee with the coffee press. Cooked up some eggs and toast and had yogurt all from the well stocked fridge. The location was perfect for me, splitting up the drive from Whitehorse to Stewart. It's a beautiful place in a pristine area on the lake. Its got every thing you need. I actually read a book on the deck overlooking the lake in the evening.

We liked everything about cooks & puppies hideaway. The website does not do this place justice. If I would have known how awsome it was I would have booked 2 or 3 nights instead of only one. From the view of the lake and mountains to the exceptional host and wonderful facilities I have to give it a 5 star plus 5 more rating.
