How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Darren's apartment is beautiful with well appointed kitchen and large living room. It is an easy stroll to the shopping area.

There was nothing to dislike.
We loved everything about our 3 night stay in the lovely 2 bedroomed house. It was perfect for us! Was very clean and had everything we needed and more. The beds were so comfortable and we loved having the veranda to sit out on. Darren was an excellent host, picking us up from the airport and giving us a tour around Sidney on our way to the house. He kindly got some shopping in for us with the essential wine, dips etc and provided water, juice and yogourts for breakfast. Would go back in an instant and would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in the delightful seaside town of Sidney. Thankyou very much Darren.

Our 2 night stay at Corbett house was very good. Location was great - close to waterfront and right in town. Quiet neighborhood. Our place had a nice porch and a private patio. Beds were comfy and lots of pillows. The living room was spacious and kitchen provided all the amenities although we ate out. Coffee as good and owner answered my texts in good time. Great place for 2 couples or a family. I definitely recommend it.

We had a warm welcome. The owner wasn't present. So we've got sticker where's the way to our room. The coffee brewer was ready for the welcomecoffee. It was a nice big room with kitchen unit without a stove, separate bath. The room was in the basement. We had 3 nights and we felt comfortable.

There are a few planes that fly over in the evenings, but it's a small airport and closed nights, and noise really isn't an issue.
Liked pretty well everything! The property is spacious, clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. Darren is a gracious host.The location is very close to the waterfront, and evening strolls are pleasant.

Really, there is nothing. It was a great room in a great location.
The room was absolutely spotless. I wish my house were that clean!!! Our host greeted us, guided us to a reserved parking spot and then gave us a thorough explanation of what we needed to know - wifi, keys, lights, etc. There was a little electric fireplace that gave off surprisingly good heat. The table was set for two, waiting for us when we arrived. It was those nice little touches that made the stay extra special. We were walking distance from the sea and the main street of Sidney. Wonderful location.

Super clean, modern and comfortable. Incredible how a kitchen, dining room, living room, and bedroom fits into this small space, and works. Enjoyed the breakfast that was set out for us, as well as the good coffee. Close to sea walk and downtown. Comfortable bed and great shower. Spent only one night but will be back.

We didn't eat the breakfast provided as we prefer cereal. The room was quite dark but I think the prices of the rooms are based on this.
Location was great, not too far from town and the bus. Close to a nice walkway. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

It is close to the airport so there is occasional noise that goes with that.
We stayed in the Kingfisher Suite on the property. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Darren was an attentive host and he made sure that we taken care of.

There is nothing we did not like.
The location is great. You can walk into Sidney from the B&B. Darren the host is friendly, and makes you feel welcome. The beds are amazingly comfortable.

Darren was an outstanding host - very responsive to our request. The free bikes and information were a great bonus- super responsive to our request and beyond expectations! The little town of Sidney was charming..with plenty of shops and restuarant - likewise the walks and the Blackberry picking.

The International AirPort Victoria YYJ is very close… Advantages and disadvantages….
The individual suites are lovingly furnished and equipped to a high standard. Every detail is established with such a good taste and you can feel the love and joy of Darren, for what he is offering and doing for his guests, he really is an amazing and wonderful host and person. Unfortunately we only could stay for two nights but we will come back for sure. We can warmly recommend this accommodation to everyone. Thank you soo much for your hospitality, Darren! We had our own private access to the room. Furniture, bed, appliances were all new and very good quality. Access to a washer and dryer. The place was impeccably clean.

It was spacious and had areas to sit outdoors. Everything was very clean and the landscaping was immaculate. The location was in easy distance of Beacon Street and the ocean walk path. It was easy to find after getting off the ferry. Darren the host responded quickly to my texts. He also gave a good suggestion on what to do.
