How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewThe room was clean and spacious. Quick check-in. The kitchenette was handy.
It is very dated and the toilet and tub were stained. There were light bulbs missing in the vanity light. The shower head was loose and we had to tighten it. The curtains had star cutouts and allowed light through. The bathroom fan didn’t really work well and there was constant steam/humidity after someone used the shower. I understand why windows were left open when we arrived now. The charge by cords at the night stand did not work. Even though we had a double room and four people, they only had two bath towels and they wouldn’t give you more towels until you returned the first two.

The showerhead, toilet, fan, and tub are already scheduled for replacement and upgrades, and these improvements are currently in progress. Regarding the lighting, our management team reduced the number of bulbs based on past guest feedback that the rooms were too bright with three or more. Most guests find the current setup comfortable, though we understand that preferences may differ. The curtains are designed as room-darkening curtains. While some light may appear during the day, they effectively block outside light at night to allow for restful sleep. Many of our guests have expressed positive feedback about this feature. As for towels, we are always happy to provide extra sets upon request. During your stay, additional towels were given to one of your companions, with the understanding that used towels would be returned afterward. We also replace towels and amenities whenever the “Make Up My Room” sign is displayed on the door. If the sign is not displayed, we respect our guests’ privacy and do not enter the room unless requested. While we understand that not every stay can meet every expectation, we are continuously working to ensure a comfortable experience for as many of our guests as possible. Verified reviewI loved the location, the reception was excellent. I had a question and they went out of their way to make sure we got the information we needed. The room was very clean. It was clear that the owners are making an effort to upgrade things. Our room had a microwave, small fridge, TV and a fairly comfortable bed, the shower was great and we had what looked like fairly new towels that were of very good quality. The price of the room was exceptionally good, particularly these days where the cost of accommodations are getting completely outrageous, to the point where we actually decided not to visit some places because of it. Our room had a small deck with two chairs, and we were able to sit out there and overlook a river. It was very pretty.
Although the owners are clearly working at upgrades, the rooms were a bit tired looking. They could do with a fresh coat of paint on the ceilings, doors, trim and walls. The deck could do with a bit of TLC as well. But to be honest, that's about it. Good functional room and a very decent price.

First nite, the room was not made up when I returned for the day? Bed not made etc Wish that the shampoo & conditioner was refilled each day, and that the staff hadn’t adjusted the room temp during the day. When you are coming from a warm day sport event - having the air on in the room is important. ;)
I sincerely apologize that this situation made you feel uncomfortable during your stay. Regarding the bedding not being made up, our housekeeping policy for stay-over guests is to service rooms with the “Please make up my room” sign displayed, which we saw on your door. This includes checking the washroom facilities, emptying the trash, vacuuming, and most importantly, refreshing the bedding. I sincerely apologize if we missed making the bed on your first night. As for the air conditioning, it should have remained on for your comfort. Unfortunately, it has been mistakenly adjusted during routine cleaning. This was entirely our oversight, and we deeply regret any inconvenience it caused you. We have already discussed this matter internally and taken measures to ensure such incidents will not happen again. We truly appreciate your detailed feedback, as it helps us improve and provide a better experience for our guests.
