Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe state of the room is a shame. Bed sheets are dirty, wardrobe door is broken and simply thrown inside. No repairs. Nothing. Misrepresented on booking.com. house is really old and should be the very last option for anyone. The floor makes noises when you walk. Booking.com should force the owner to renovate the house to keep the listing. Or mention that the house is really old in the listing. 252$ is not too much for toronto. I was not expecting fancy things. But even sleep was difficult because of thinking of the state of the room. Scared of putting the old bed sheets on my skin. How dare you even ask for 200$ deposit??

CanadaNothing about the space was to like. We couldn't stay even for an hour because it was filthy. The kitchen had mouse poop all around the portable oven. The room wasn't cleaned, even though the woman we met said her son cleaned it. The sheets had stains on it, the window blind was broken, with some feathers hanging at one corner. There were some clothes thrown behind a drawer and there was a lot of dust on the headboard. There were signs to remove shoes in the house, but at the entrance to the home was a dirty boot tray, with caked salt stains from the winter. Everything about this place was all wrong. This home should never have been listed for occupancy. The owner is claiming it's non-refundable and refusing to refund the money I paid, despite having a space where no one should be living in not to talk of sleeping overnight. We had to pay for another accommodation elsewhere.

CanadaEverything. Him to come back and offer a free night stay is not enough. The place is disgusting. Worst place I have been to. No compensation and Booking thought $22 would cover that loss!
Nothing, He goes to defend himself on each persons reviews without being honest. We get there and theres mold everywhere. There is dirt every. They made a dirty bed is all.

CanadaThe room had a terrible smell and was dirty the bedsheets were covered in stains and the whole bedroom floor had stains and was never cleaned before and i had to bring my own bedsheets and pillow covers. I also needed to mention that the window screens in 2 of the rooms on the basement floor (including my room) were damaged and it looked like somebody tried to break it from the outside i am not trying to offend anybody in any way shape or form but that house was filthy.

CanadaWasn’t clean
I couldn’t stay in the property and had a terrible experience with the host who will not open the house until I sent him $200 e-transfer for damage deposit. Upon entering the property, it wasn’t a pleasant experience so I called him to check out to find a decent place to stay. As I type, he still hasn’t given me my damage deposit although I didn’t stay in the house.

ItalyThe rooms had dead bedbugs everywhere. The bathroom was full of dirt and dead insects and grime. This looks like a filthy house where every room is used for prostitution and hard drugs. Look at some of my photos showing giant fat dead bedbugs and bodily fluids on sheets.
Nothing at all. This place is inhospitable and the host does not respond.
