Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaOnce I walked in the room it was extremely warm. I couldn't get the TV to work, the fridge door was left open so couldn't keep anything cold. Also there was a tissue in the peep hole.

CanadaThe housing-crisis caused me to book a stay at the Hotel, and I think there was a misunderstanding from the beginning as to what type of clientele the Management Team is comfortable with, because of the information at their media. It seems there are clientele booked there who may be men with life-challenges, and I came to understand that my being there was making the other Guests, and perhaps the Manager's wife, feel uncomfortable, something I didn't know would happen before I booked. I have no proof to say any of this.
I liked that the Room was pretty peaceful, overall. The Room's Furniture appears to have been well-maintained throughout the years. I had a really good view of the city of Kamloops, BC. It is a nice, older Hotel.

CanadaTheir "included" breakfast options could have been better, such as toast but no butter; cereal but no milk, but they did have jam, at least for the "dry" toast. I would have appreciated their muffins option to be from a real bakery instead of those packaged store bought ones too, so passed on these.
Overall, the right location for me to attend the Pow Wow just down the hill and over the bridge. Great corner room overlooking down the hill to the city and the Pow Wow grounds just over the bridge. Quiet and clean.

CanadaAnything, the owner of the lodge was very rude. I called him ahead of time and told him that I am coming with a pet and asked him for the total amount he will charge he told me $235 for both the days but when I arrived there he asked for pet deposit which he didn’t tell me before. His lodge is just concrete and there is no pet relaxation place. As soon as I confronted him about the increased charges he asked me to go find some place else.

United KingdomUtterly disgusted with this place because I was turned down at nearly 3am as a young solo female, who had booked a room and had proof, but got turned away at the door to be told 'we don't do late check ins, and we don't have a room for you'. The man at reception was totally inconsiderate and couldn't have cared less that I had no where else to go. I had given a notification of a later check in due to a flight delay and had no response from that. Do not book this place. I waited in the stairway of another hotel till 6am waiting to go to the Starbucks. I felt totally homeless it was a horrible experience.

CanadaHello! I'd like to be able to stay at the Kamloops Star Lodge Motel on a long-term basis, maybe for about three months, and doing this periodically, when I need to return to Kamloops, which is my hometown. But I just don't know how to get that procedure going! Would you happen to be able to provide not just the Motel Managers, but potential Guests, at the booking.com website, how extended-stays can be arranged? By the way: I was in Kelowna, BC, recently, dropped in to a really nice-looking Hotel, and asked about doing an extended-stay there. The nice lady behind the Counter indicated that it was a "prestige-" establishment, and I interpreted that to mean that the Hotel catered to wealthy clientele who tend to live full-time at their regular homes, and don't need to create a Tenancy at a temporary stay-place, like a Hotel. I thought her use of the word, "prestige," was kind of interesting, and maybe helpful, too :)
Hello! Things I liked about the Kamloops Star Lodge Motel include its good location: This Motel has a superlative view of the skyline, and the city of Kamloops, BC! Moreover, the older architecture of the building, which include vintage touches such as a stick-like, wooden barrier on the Upper Level, leant to an eclectic and "old west-" ambience. (Now, if only I had the ability to install "saloon-style" partition-doors in my suite....)

CanadaArrived at nearly 11pm on a snowy night and the owner, who was drunk and belligerent, decided not to honour my reservation because he wanted to get paid more. Wasted an hour trying to get booking.com to cancel the reservation for free. They actually called the owner while I was in the room and he was extremely rude to them. I ended up staying nearby for twice the price. I have NEVER heard of a place demanding more money just to check in. Do not take a chance on this run-down, sketchy place.

CanadaStaff lightly knocked on our door as I napped and my wife was in the bathroom. I woke up to my wife yelling at the cleaning lady who just let herself in and tried to re-enter after being asked to leave. Knowing she was wrong she suddenly accused us of smoking weed in the room. We were surrounded by low income addict tenants who definitely smoke weed in their rooms. After she left the husband came up and asked us to leave claiming we smoked weed in the room. I diffused the situation only because I didn't want to lose the money we paid and have to pay again somewhere else. The breakfast was dried out muffins and juice boxes which we did not eat. I had to wash out the AC filter on arrival as it was two inches thick with black crud. On day two they came in while we were out and inexplicably took away all but one of our clean towels. They were later replaced with stained unpleasant smelling towels. Between all that and the excessive price for run down rooms in a motel halfway house, not recommended and won't stay there ever again.
The location is excellent. Thats about the only upside to this landfill of a motel.
